I've not been on habbo around 9 months, and I've recently come online and noticed this new marketplace scheme habbo have made to boost demand for credits (and gain more money :rolleyes. As I have found out about the Club Sofa both losing demand and gaining supply, therefore making an incredible plunge in its value, it seems almost like habbo has been hit by inflation with the ridiculous soar in some prices.
However, with this new marketplace letting you know about the averages, it can be so much simpler for habbox and anybody with a calculator to make a very accurate estimate of what the true value of an item is. Knowing that the gold bar is valued at 8.3CS you can calculate a value of an item.
The calculation to work out the full Club Sofa value of an item on habbo, using the average credit value would be:
Example: Throne (Average: 826)
826/50=16.52
16.52x8.3=137.116
So the average value of a throne being sold on the marketplace would be 137CS.
This shows that the marketplace, even though the marketplace has destroyed the Club Sofa's value, can be easily used to gain the best possible accurate value of an item.
There are however a couple of problems using this calculation unfortunately. Firstly, the value that habbox give the gold bar, has to be at least 90% accurate to make sure that they can gain the most accurate average value of an item sold on the marketplace. And a final problem would be that not all trades are completed over the marketplace so if many trades of a certain item were made outside the marketplace, this value would not be noticed unless a Rare Values Reporter spots the trade. But of course with the increasing amount of people wantingl or buy items using credits they will use the marketplace habbox can use this to their advantage to gain a very accurate value on items.
Wouldn't mind seeing peoples opinions on this and can anybody correct me if I am wrong with this calculation that I have discovered. I also think it would be a very good suggestion for the Rare Values Team to at least consider using as I am positively sure that they can gain the most accurate value possible, which I know from experience, can not always be easy.
Moved my Mr-Trainor (Forum Moderator): from 'Report Rare Values' to here. As you said, it's better suited to this forum![]()
