13 years at the top of UK Politics and this guy needs more time? He could go on forever at this rate. It was always very clear that Gordon Brown was solely incharge of the economy, Tony Blair never strayed into economics. They both say this themselves, that the two kept out of each others business despite holding the two most important jobs in government, to avoid conflict. Tony Blair let Gordon do whatever the hell he wanted and Gordon didn't even tell Tony Blair what the budget consisted of.
Unlike today's government where Gordon Brown has got a firm grip on the economy, I get the impression Alistair Darling has very little say.
Frankly it just worries me that there's not a single person people like in the Labour cabinet. No one even tried to challenge Gordon Brown for party leadership, when there's been attempts to oust Brown, there's always been confusion on who to back (Hence why they have failed). I hate to say it, but the best Labour has is Lord Mandelson
As for a hung parliament, that also frightens me. I think it'd be worse than another 5 years of Gordon Brown, Labour/Lib Dem would be a useless government which got very little done due to all the in-fighting while the country collapses in the background, practically mirroring the 70s. While I know Dan and many UKIP supporters hope this happens, either so Proportional Representation is implemented by the Lib Dems or so that the Conservative party will get a new leader, I think the country will be devastated in the meantime, possibly beyond repair even for a Thatcher-like figure.
And btw the poll is useless and not very indicative at all- Tories started off with a decent lead, then UKIP got an enormous lead and now Labour has caught up so they're all neck and neck. I'm reassured the BNP hasn't any votes yet though.

You vote on the ones that do as they promise. You vote on policies that you agree with and not because your family vote for that party all the time. From looking at the poll there must be a lot of jokers here or people from families living a life of luxury on benefits and want another 5 years as poor persecuted people who cant help being unemployed.............
