HTC may not be well known like Nokia is in the UK but they are getting more popular by the day. More networks are selling them on contracts and they can be easily bought from online retailers such as Amazon. HTC have some amazing devices already in the market and also coming out within next month. Yes they have made phones for other companies such as Google. But it doesn't make them any different.

What I would advise you to do, is check out the HTC phones they have on offer and see if you will like the android operating system. I'm assuming they sell them with the Android OS. It's a pretty god dam good OS.

As for the signal comment, I work in scotland. I work in scotland and don't work elsewhere. I live in central scotland, every three customer I speak with speaks of their lack of coverage. I'm not sure how the signal is for english customers as believe it or not i don't deal with english or welsh customers!

As for o2, they lack signal because apparently they can't afford the expansion planned for the fact they lost too much money on their apple investment. When they lost the exclusivity other customers went to voda or orange. Reason being Vodafone have the best 2g signal and Orange have the best 3G signal.

Three do not have the best 3g signal. Their internet and 3g services are advanced, for the fact they ARE a 3G network. But i can argue this for the fact if you go buy three dongle your postcode is searched to see you will receive a signal, when roaming for a three signal in scotland it's notoriously difficult. I can say this having a brother whom used three for over three months (believe it or not he wanted a signal with any phone he had ).

Three stock handsets that either have been out on the general market for a long while, or a selected few handsets they do get the rights for straight away. At the moment they have the vivaz and the n97 mini which they're pitching as their flagship handsets. I don't deny they offer good deals, but their "smartphone" stock isn't the best - i believe it's orange. IF not orange definately will be. They've taken the "Best 3G network" advertisement, getting a good response and they're planning on running with it.

Blackberry's are mainstream. They were the first smartphone on the market? The vast majority of what i sell week to week is iphone and blackberry. I have a blackberry bold. I have wifi (where did you hear "no wifi" rubbish?), HSDPA, 3G capabilities, applications, multi tasking capabilities, the best functional calander or planner on the market amongst other things. I understand blackberry's were created for the business minded, but not now-a-days. As for symbian their products are fabulous, but only recently. If you use one compared to say, a HTC HD2 you notice that windows is better than symbian.

As far as I'm aware three as always and have been always and consistently at the bottom of the pecking order when it comes to what stock they're receiving. I can't say that for sure, but for instance they stock many phones which are two years old? They receive stock which is old IN MY OPINION and the fact is it's far more reduced and cheaper. They don't sit there and pick what they want, they stock what they can. For instance, no other mainstream phone shop stock three handsets - why? - because three can't afford to have more stock. they can't afford to stock their dealers!

I said contractors as in, they MAKE the phones for other companies? for instance they made the google one. Did you see HTC on that handset anywhere? NO. You're taking what i said and twisting it. They've always made phones or componants just didn't make phones for themselves until recently.

I understand you obviously enjoy three as a network and you enjoy using them... oh you don't. All i've said is a collective of my opinions, other's opinions and hard fact i know of. Please don't attack other users when you dislike their statements .

If its just your opinion you should say so, if you state it as fact and back it up with "I work in the mobile industry" you should expect criticism when you say things wrong. And that last sentence is just silly, if you don't like people disagreeing with you a forum is the wrong place for you (which is strange seeing as you appear to be a trialist moderator )

This shows you have no clue what your talking about considering Whampoa Hutchinson is Three? They are a company who around the world runs under the Three Network. They aren't just based in the UK, Three is a global company owned by Whampoa Hutchinson, so cutting ties? Erm, I'm not quite sure how companies can cut ties with themselves so please don't give me a load of bull. Also you may live in Scotland, that means you have no experience of Three in the rest of the country, just because you've heard from a few three customers up there in Scotland doesn't mean it gives you the right to go **** off Three.

O2 haven't lost money from their Apple agreement, on the contrary O2 gained a lot of money, and the reason they lost it wasn't because they had poor network coverage, the reason they lost it was because Apple were getting offers that they couldn't refuse from other networks such as Orange, who already sold the iPhone in France, and Vodafone who also already sold the iPhone elsewhere. It wouldn't be down to the poor network coverage considering AT&T have one of the worst networks in the US, yet it still has the iPhone Exclusivity. It's also not the biggest subscribed network in the US. Also Orange does not have the best 3G Signal, I actually wanted to check my facts on this and it turns out Orange claims that they have 93% coverage of 3G Signal in the UK, which makes them claim they are the largest. However independent studies show that Three have 95% UK coverage, and also are planning to improve that this year up to 98%. This is because not only do they use their own individual masts, which are powerful and are plentiful, but in 2008 they agreed to share masts with T-Mobile to take their 3G Coverage as well.

Your area you live in does not classify the whole of the UK, I have seen many areas in the UK, where people can't do nothing but praise Three for their coverage.

Three stock some of the best smartphones, they obviously won't beat Orange/O2/T-Mobile/Vodafone as they are a much smaller company, however the brands they do have and the phones they do have are pretty good. Also the phone named the INQ is one of the most social phones and won phone of the year last year, and lo and behold that was actually produced by Three. So you can't say they don't get some good phones. Orange I would never say hold the best smartphones, I would say O2 do as they have the latest smartphones first, such as HTC HD2, Palm Pre and they even had the iPhone.

Blackberry were not the first smartphones to market, that was actually a Palm PDA. Remember the first blackberry was only a Pager, whereas the first Palm was an actual smartphone. Blackberry's still aren't mainstream, they are for business people, and RIM are desperately trying to make them user friendly, and yes they are becoming mainstream but they're not quite there yet. I am also guessing you have the latest iteration of the Blackberry Bold as most Blackberry's still do not have WiFi, but RIM are desperately trying to make phones with WiFi as the original Blackberry Storm had no WiFi. Also, Symbian is way better than any Windows Mobile Device out right now, although the HTC HD2 is the best Windows Mobile Phone I have seen in a long time.

Erm, Three does choose what phones it wants to have. Three has the choice to stock any phone they want, bar the exclusivity deals of course. They can more than afford it, they are just targeting a different market to the other companies. Some of its stock is old, but then you can say that about most American carriers who are stocking some phones that you would not believe still exist.

The Google G1, was only called that because T-Mobile asked for the branding rights. It was actually meant to be called the HTC Dream, as it is called in other countries abroad. The Google Nexus One, also has a counterpart called HTC Legend, which is pretty much the same but without the Google Experience, just because HTC sell the naming rights, doesn't mean it is any less of their phone. Also, the Google Nexus One does have a mention of the HTC rights if you open the actual phone, or read the user manual. They've always made phones for themselves and sold them with HTC branding for years and years, so you are wrong when you say they didn't make them for themselves until recently.

I don't use the Three Network, no, I use O2. I use O2 for a reason, such as people have the choice to use whatever networks they want.
