In regards to this type of event, I do believe that if you are holding a private party you should be allowed to invite/decline whoever you wish.

Agreed when the motives are just. However homophobia and discrimination against disabled people isn't an acceptable reason to decline anybody. It's the same as the recent story about the B&B owners who turned a gay couple away on religious grounds.

Although they disguised it this was a school event. No government funded organisation should be able to discriminate.
