Unless you lived in Scotland then it would all be free There seems to be a lot of unfairness in the UK education system. I will take your word for it on the higher fees for the foreigners but is that not discriminating? Also if the chinese can afford these much higher fees how come the UK feels the need to give China aid. The whole world has gone mad.

It's true Quite alot of foreigners have to pay more than UK students, even ones in the Common Wealth e.g. people from the Cayman Islands. It's not discrimating as such, they have to pay their way to get here afterall, and have to go through alot of legal procedures which can be very costly.

no it's not because all local authorities in the UK & EU have an agreement to pay for a lot of the university costs - you pay the 'top-up' fee (the £3k fee). Obviously the non-eu students are not part of this agreement and have to pay inflated full fees.

there are chinese and hong kong students at my 6th form college who spend about 8k on tuition fees a year at a state 6th form college and there's this indian guy who's lived in the UK for 2years or so and is considered a foreign student in the UK and in India - there's not as much as a giveaway as you might think.
    goodbye.

I never said it was a give away I said they were taking advantage of our education and by that I meant our great universities and colleges I have no issue at all with people who come here and pay their way/fees or people who come here to work hard and pay in to the system.
