I have the greatest respect for anyone joining the forces. I wish you the very best of luck . Keep at it and don't give up, and it will be one of the most worthwhile things you will do in your life, ever. Although my basic training was with the army (the best of the three forces) if you would like any help / tips or advice just drop me a PM.

    Again, good luck .

Thanks, yeah i have 9 weeks basic training down in Devon, and then will go straight to Plymouth i think it is for 6 months to train as a chef, and then will be placed upon a sub as that it my chosen area. Im locked in a contract till i am 21 now so no going back. Will hopefully make me mature alot and if i decide to come out at 21 be able to use my profession to get a good job (as the navy train the best chefs in the world). Or hopefully ill end up staying in till i am around 25/26 in the plan.

It will be quiet around here without you. Don't forget to register your new address or you will have to go all the way back to Kent to vote!

I think your political views will change after a while in the Navy

There will be a period of time during your basic training where you will be able to DaoR (Discharge as of Right). Lots of people do and did when I was in basic, but I would advise you to try your hardest and stick at it despite the feelings you may have at the time - as most people live to regret it! You will have an amazing time and make lots of excellent friends .

Goodbye Titch, it's been good fun having you around! It seems wierd this being the last time we'll probably ever make contact.
Enjoy your days in the Navy and try to make a good career of it! Have fun!

    Bye.
