Good is down to opinion, and there's tons of different genres of metal. Black, death, avant-garde, power. Personally, I hate most power metal as bands like Dragonforce annoy the Hell out of me, the vocals sound really queer and the music kinda sounds samey to me, but Dragonforce are probably low tier in power metal. Really not sure what kind of metal you want, I'd recommend you some of what I listen to (mostly black/symphonic/melodic/avant-garde) but I don't think it'd be your thing judging by your last fm? May be wrong though..

Ye, I think he's probably looking for that kind of metal. Looked on his last fm and he's been listening to Metallica lately.

As Axel said, you looking for any genres in particular? I could give you a lot of bands but my metal collection ranges from pop-metal to death metal.

Some metal in the middle I guess would be Avenged Sevenfolds later albums, Iron Maiden and Metallica, or metalcore, which is my preferred genre which is a blend of heavier metal with melodic lyrics, examples being Dead By April, As I Lay Dying (An Ocean Between Us) and Atreyu.

Then you have the heavier metal like Cannibal Corpse, Slipknot and stuff like that, it's really dependant on what you're looking for.

It's almost a must for you to check out Psychostick though, they're hilarious.

I love some symphonic/melodic black metal, hate Cannibal Corpse though.

Even if some of the vocals are horrible, I find some of the music in symphonic and melodic really ******* catchy.

Stuff like the intro to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hytF8O29EFQ, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-hsa1a7kyM, etc. To each his own though, I guess.

Heard of Dimmu Borgir before, I like some of the instrumentals sections of death metal but I just can't listen to the vocals, it's just aweful, better than Bring Me The Horizon though. ¬¬
