    Default Motorbike + Parents Problem.

Okay, I'm nearly 17 and I have set my heart on getting an RS125 bike but the only problem is that both my parents don't want me to have it. Ive tried persuading them with no joy. However at the moment I can't stop thinking about getting one, ive thought about just getting one without my parent and bringing it home which wouldn't end up very well i presumed but I see no other way :/ And don't say "just don't get one" cause i REALLLLYYY want one.

    SO
any ideas how I could persuade them into thinking bikes are okay?
Ive tried saying ill be careful and take my test and things but nothing has worked so far...

    Thanks
    Paul

I really wanted a bike for a bit, then the desire dies down and you think "what was I thinking, riding a deathtrap". Four wheels are so much better than 2, save for a car or you'll regret it.

Was in the exact same position dude . There is really only one way they will allow you to ride a bike and thats to show them your RESPONSIBLE as they wont be convinced by any other means.

For example, my dad is a biker but my mum was really against it and expectedly refused to let me have one. Shes still not fully supportive but she would atleast let me have one (Getting one this summer . You need to sit them down at a table and have a LONG discussion, tell them how it will improve your life and that you will be responsible but also that you willing to do training etc such as CBT and eventually your bike test. This way you can prove them that your a responsible guy so that they have less of a need to be worried.

Yeah well if everything went bad when I discussed I'll probably just get one myself as I can and they can't stop me? The thing is though I wouldn't be an idiot on the road, id ride like a saint but my parents don't trust me :/

Yeah I'll try the long discussion first and try and get them onboard by telling them I'll ride safley, do my CBT, how much I need it and then how they will be my personal taxi other wise and if that doesn't work then I'll probably just go out and buy one on my own :/ It's so annoying how they are SO against it though :/

My parents wern't really happy when i first got my moped, then i was fine on that and they let me get a 125cc cross bike then when i wrote that off it was it, they said i wasn't allowed another one although im doing my bike test at the moment im not planning to have a bike for a while it is pure adrenaline though, something you wont feel for a while but meh. i nearly died because of a stupid driver hitting into the back of me at high speeds but your old enough for a car, so its well worth it.
