    Why 6GB? Do you have 2 x 2GB and 2 x 1GB?

Sounds a bit strange to me too. I swear i5 is dual channel and not triple channel.

I can't remember if you need all the same sized sticks for dual channel to work.

When I opened it up I saw 3 RAM sticks, so I assume 3 x 2GB? I'm recycling my old PC so will probably end up with 8 GB. The GPU is my old one too, it came with an Nvidia 220 which I think someone was looking into somewhere on the forums?

That would mean it's not running in dual channel, crippling your bandwidth.

So what's a good course of action? Just chucking in another 2GB stick or removing one? These i Core processors confuse the hell out of me, they're not as straight forward as the Quad Core Processors or Dual Core, seeing as most i5 processors seem to have 2 cores but are designed to hyper-thread or something (I feel asleep finding out about it)

The best thing to do would to add another 2GB stick for 8GB. It will then be all running in full dual channel. Probably best to get the same brand and model since the P55 platforms are very sensitive to memory voltages which may vary from brand to brand or model to model.
