Well it's not like even the expert or whatever he is in the article was necessary for us to work out that there is a slim possibility

    they're all different.

    gta3 was claude
    gta vc was tommy
    gta sa was carl
    gta 4 was niko

chances are, it'll be a new character.
Everything other than GTA, GTA II, GTA III and GTA IV was a side-project.

yeah you can think like that if you want but they were all completely new games with no carry ons, much, from either game.

    they're all separate games.

SA and Vice City are "spin-offs" so to speak, like some of the CoD games, they are the only two that are not set in Liberty City, other than London of course, hence when it's not "GTA 3 Vice City" etc.

I'm guessing they find the term "side-project" a bit confusing. In a way they are side projects, but the term is usually used for games that weren't intended or had similar characters and maps, while Vice City and so forth were quite diverse compared to GTA III, which was quite basic compared to them That's how I'm guessing the confusion came about

Ah, I see. I guess the way to look at it is that all the main numbered titles (I, II, III, IV) are evolutions of each other - all set in the same city but just made more advanced each time.

Yep, pretty much If you look at the map of Liberty City in the original GTA, you can see alot of similarities in the current one:

    http://www.rockstargames.com/gta/

It's interesting seeing how it's evolved, especially now the islands are vertical, rather than horizontal (to make it easier to read I imagine).

Anyway, what has this got to do with GTA V? Are we still speculation V is Vice City? Kinda destroys the evolution theory, but expansions like Liberty City Stories are the future

Apparently it'll be called Grand theft auto: Vice or something, and apparently this is a snap of it

In which case the next GTA should be called GTA 4: Something. If you think about it:

    GTA 1 & spinoffs - 1st game topdown
GTA 2 better graphics, on consoles
    GTA 3 3d
    GTA 4 next gen
    GTA 5 ????????

they evolve so why is it gta 5? it should be gta 4: ???????
