Exactly you're not really driving if you have an automatic. Fair enough if you live in downtown NY or something and don't want to piss about with going in and out of 1st gear to move 100m in 10 mins but for general driving I can think of nothing more boring (or with less feeling of control) than an automatic.

I'd go for a manual license with a manual car if I were you, when you get your license you can get an automatic car. Just saves hassle in the future

Thissssss. Mate, honestly while you have the choice learn to drive a manual. If it seems difficult or whatever you will pick it up really quickly after a few lessons. You'll need lessons anyway before taking a test. Not only is a manual more fun to drive, it will provide much better performance.

As for the Mini, I'm assuming you mean a new one so my advice is; NEW MINIS SUCK GET AN ORIGINAL ONE
