I've never really seen anyone with any sort of customisations, so just assumed no-one bothered or there was no functionality. Though changing the background is hardly amazing. It's funny because Apple are probably wanting to add widgets to their iPhones, but they will so get blasted for it

Can you change the style in general, like quick links at the bottom, like ADW for the Android lets you completely change the homescreen to allow extra screens and/or quick links for apps you use all the time? Or is this where the customisation argument for Apple completely crashes? It's something they really should look into, but many accure Jobs of wanting everyone wanting to have the same product with no uniqueness (or that's how they come off, at least).
i do dislike all the i's but oh well

the background shouldve been there from the start, i agree, but meh, hasnt bothered me toooooooo much

im not sure what you really mean? Did you watch the video? iPhone has 4 fixed apps at the bottom (whether messages, contacts, a game) which can be changed for anything. Then it has 4 more rows per page, and 4 on each line (so 5 altogether, 20 apps in total). You can drag and dorp any app anywhere, and make upto 10/11 pages of apps, so it means 220ish apps. however, apple are now adding a folders function, so you can get about 2000 apps now, if you had folders on each page, in every slot.

the app icons are basically widgets, just, not lol. in fact, theres no need to add widgets really. It has the clock at the top, and weather icons, along with music players etc, are at the touch of an icon so its not really any more work

Is it an App in the App Store or do you have to mess around the iPhone in an unsavoury sort of way?

I sort of knew about the 4 apps at the bottom, didn't know they were actually fixed. Would people really need 2,000 apps? That's kinda overkill I guess the apps only really lose their shine when things like Twitter or Facebook come into play, Android shows status updates for friends with a picture, which seems a bit much for a small icon. They're useful to display that little extra information, like Latitude, browser history/most viewed websites at least, cuts out the effort but nothing major

(and didn't watch the video, running around in circles but will watching it in a second if I remember )

Ah I see, kinda sucks you have to put that much effort in. The only effort I've had to put into the Xperia to install the Swype keyboard was to manually install it , as it's not in the Android market (or wasn't when I played with it). It only involved uploading into a folder, no extra effort. I guess this relates to how Apple hide folders and so forth for some unknown reason, it's why the Bluetooth isn't as good as it should be

Not really. Its a click of a mouse button and takes around 15 seconds. We also get proper bluetooth through jailbreaking, did you know?

the 4 apps at the bottom arent fixed lol. and i know but, you know, you might want to have 2000 apps? XD the facebook apps fast enough without having to have a widget though lol. or at least thats my thinking anyway. and latitude!? as if anyone needs that in normal day to day circumstances the browser has a history and bookmarked, as well as bringing up your most visited if you begin typing.

thingsll make more sense if you watch a video of moving them around lol

(im just gonna add this in here but, you seem to be picking fault with apple before knowing what the iphone actual does )

jailbreaking is simple, you download a 1mb application, and click run, and its done. Ok, you might need to research a bit to figure out how to customise and stuff but that depends on the user lol
