After it's tonight's performance, England are Stoke big target man up front, playing central mids on the wing, the manager has his favourites and refuses to play the best team which everyone else thinks.

So Gerrard is the most affective player we have against USA in the middle and he puts him on the left? Okay..

I tell you something for nothing, I would drop Frank Lampard from the England squad, he is a terrible player. Never in the right positions for an attacking midfielder and his record for England is absolutely diabolical. Yet another disgrace.

If you're going to play 4-4-2 you drop either Gerrard or Frank Lampard. Gerrard has been made captain so he's obviously seen as a big player which means that Lampard should be dropped. Your captain should arguably be the one who should stay in his main position, pushing the team on, giving them the upper hand and he can't do that on the wing. If you're going to play them both, you drop Emile Heskey. Which one is it? It's not the formation, it's the team choice.

The best way to fit everyone in is play 4-3-3/4-5-1.

If he's going to stick to 4-4-2, then it should be:

Lennon - Gerrard - Barry - J. Cole
---------- Rooney - Crouch ----------

I agree, Lampard hasn't performed in an England shirt for a while. Unfortunately, he's one of the elite 'untouchables'. RM is a wasted position as long as Johnson doesn't have the brain capacity to realise that if there's a winger there (in SWP or Lennon) then they need to receive the ball early to run at players.

Here are some of Capello's flaws:
1. Being so insistent on playing Heskey.
2-Playing Lampard in a 442
3- Playing Gerrard and Lampard in a 442- too predictable.
4- Playing Gerrard on the left
5- Playing J.Cole in the warm ups and not had a min game time so far
6- Not starting with J.Cole
7- Not taking A.Johnson to the World Cup
8-Starting Rob Green and not deciding on a number 1 goalkeeper after 2 years.
9- Not giving Hart enough game pre World Cup.
10- Taking Carrick as a replacement for Barry then not using him.
11- Not giving Lennon the ball to run at the full backs.
12- No creative players.
13- Not sure how they can play as a 'team' when they don't know who they're playing with until 2 hours before the game.

Add not taking Walcott to that list and I agree

If I'm honest, if there is any English player that I'd have wanted to come off the bench in that game in the 70th min, it would be Walcott.

Out of the players we have, Cole.

Never start Walcott, but as a super sub, he can do the job.

Walcott has one thing that defenders are scared of and that's pace. Full-backs will stop going forward and teams will commit less if they know you can counter-them.

I hate to keep repeating myself but he would have been in the same position as Lennon... they can't play to their strengths and run at defenders with pace if Johnson decides to play an awkward pass only when he has no other option. They need to receive the ball early. The right side is wasted with him at RB.
