Na it won't, Goal difference can't put them out, but it could lead to them finishing 2nd but that's unlikely.

If Spain beat Chile, and Switzerland beat Honduras then it's:

    6 - Spain
    6 - Chile
    6 - Switzerland

At the moment, Spain are +1, Chile are +2 and Switzerland are 0. So yeah, really Spain just need to win the next game as I can't see Switzerland putting more than 2 past Honduras and they finish top.

If Spain beat Chile then they will have a better GD no matter what, and they'd be +2 and more on GD, so for Switzerland to finish top they need to score over 3 goals which I can't see happening.

Yeah, Spain have to beat Chile anyway really so regardless of what score they beat them by, they'll go above them. Unlikely Switzerland will smash Honduras.

    Spain's GD is currently 1 and Chile's is 3. So a 1 goal win won't do much.

edit: my bad, didn't realise they had conceded.

I edited it 'cause I realised I was wrong. Chile have +2 and Spain +1. A one-goal win means Spain over-take them. Thought it meant they were level, don't know why.

If Spain beat Chile, then they qualify no matter what. If Switzerland beat Honduras by 2 or more goals then they could finish top, otherwise as long as Spain win, they will finish top.

Chile are a mint team. What odds can I get on Spain going out? Might be worth a bet.

Besides, if they finish second, it sets up a great last 16 draw vs Brazil.

It wouldn't surprise me, but I think that Spain will do it. Spains main problem is cutting through a defence at the moment, without a fit Torres. But Chile have a bad defence, and play all out attack. The Spanish will hit them on the counter with pace and passing and score a few I think, but Chile might get one in.
