    Default Habbox Events

    Hi,

Over the last 2 months or so no Habbox Events have been added to the Habbox Forum calendar. Personally, I preferred this because I knew what was going on and I actually could know when they are on. However, now, some of the announcments are when the event begins, some fifteen minutes before and really the maximum amount of time I get to know is one hour before the event. I also liked the Habbox Forum calendar so you could see roughly how many events went on everyday because I know for a fact, when it was updated in February (when I was around in the team), it was amazing to see so many events at the bottom and showed something. I've had to ask most days to find out what events there are and it's just a shame not to know when they are.

I would say something else on that matter but tbh, there's nothing else to say. I think the Habbox Forum Calendar is a great way for promotion of events.

Also another thing, slightly off what I made the topic for, is the amount of advertisment Habbox Events should be doing. The Events department, in my personal belief, is there to advertise Habbox and it's sites. I know for a fact that there are only a few organisers who do this (I'm not naming anyone) and it's a wonderful way to promote the department. I actually don't believe the dept. should be there unless advertising is done. I don't know about your views on this.

Finally, the wide spread of events. I think that the events are more spread out than before (even if I did do lots of original events ) but there is still room for improvement. Pay day has been done a lot in the last two weeks and so has pod racing (I think), but again that's just my opinion. The Mole and Musical Chairs are two great examples which are good games but aren't done so frequently, and can be replaced with one of the common events (not literally, just so that it's not done repetitively). I will also be happy to teach anyone my Splat! game or my CHARGE! game because I know it got a lot of positive feedback (yes Phil, that's directed at you as I did say I'd teach you Splat months ago).

What's your opinions on the current events?

I would guess the reason for lack of events being added was due to the management changes. There was a couple of weeks with no Senior EO and Molly partially resigned. They are being added more than they were but there's still a few missing. The Habbox Today was also used previously, which doesn't seem to have been updated either.

We are told to announce events "roughly" 30 minutes before it starts (as opposed to 1 hour like it was previously). I'm not really too sure how many people look at the CNB and go to the event when they see it posted, but I daresay it's more about making a presence and letting people know that there are events going on.

I think it's best to simply ask people who are waiting in line to sign up to HabboxForum.com and tune into the radio. The majority of the time, the people are at the event to win furniture, so by persuading them to sign up to the forum to enter Competitions (hence win furniture) and be notified of future events it would encourage them to stay.

For some odd reason, pay day has made a massive come back and there has indeed been a lot of them over the past few weeks. The only reason I can think of for this is due to the merge. It was a game a lot of people enjoyed playing on the US hotel and I can only guess it's stayed on. Remember there are a lot of trialists in the events dept right now aswell, I daresay they are probably wanting to do games they can show off about rather than take the risk and do an original game.

This isn't relating to your topic at all, but I have noticed a lot of the normal, Habbo players from the USA don't even award prizes when you win their game. I've won several trivia races and the prize has either been rights or nothing This could be a good "marketing technique" when promoting Habbox Events too

EVERY event that is in the habbox event booking calender is now on the forum one. I personally added them all the other night. the last couple of months there has been a rather shaky staff number and finally we are back on with a large staff number. There is only me and roxy that can add the events to the forum calendar so obviously this can take some time in doing so when there is a team of 20 eos.

There is also now a habbox site calendar for everyone to view on the win win win section. This lists every event for the week.

At the end of the day we do encourage the eos to do a variety of events and there has been some. Blacktux did mario karts yesterday, I personally do avoiding death, Poison floor was also done.

Ill see what i can do about advertising the other sites but it does get a little irritating as an eo having to shout out habboxforum every now and then just to get people advertising. We are in the process of organizing a big event once a week with a prize forum related so that shud help to sort out some of the advertising.

If you have any events you wish to see happening feel free to pm me on how to play them and i can test them out and possibly add them to the habbox events list.

I don't see the logic in this if there are only a couple of events a day, why can't Phil and David add them? They should be able to do that and then maybe the Events Management roles can be evened up and even altered every month so then no one gets bored.

There is also now a habbox site calendar for everyone to view on the win win win section. This lists every event for the week. Yes I have heard about that, thanks for the heads up, but I think more people need to be aware of it. When it was the Competitions section although I had other things to do, I don't think anyone noticed it anyway. Why is there nothing on the weekly calendar?

At the end of the day we do encourage the eos to do a variety of events and there has been some. Blacktux did mario karts yesterday, I personally do avoiding death, Poison floor was also done. I was very pleased with the Mario Kart one because it definitely reflected my point. Your avoiding death I know, however, was done twice a month when you were normal/senior and it did show as if you had no other ideas.

Ill see what i can do about advertising the other sites but it does get a little irritating as an eo having to shout out habboxforum every now and then just to get people advertising. We are in the process of organizing a big event once a week with a prize forum related so that shud help to sort out some of the advertising. I've also heard about the weekly event about the Forum Prize cos Roxy told me hehehe but a sticker in the room is no help at all. They only have to do things in between rounds or even get other staff who are in the room to advertise Habbox sites especially to people in the line- this is a key way to advertise because they are bored of just waiting.

If you have any events you wish to see happening feel free to pm me on how to play them and i can test them out and possibly add them to the habbox events list. I don't know what's on the list- but I know that a lot of my events were very successful (some slightly out the box but still)

Phil and david cant add them due to perm issues. It took a good work out from me and matt to get my perms sorted properly so i cud add them.

There is probs no events on the calendar at the moment on the site because it is sunday and it will update with the weeks full list tomoz.

alex i find that rather offensive how you are basically sayin im no good as an eo because i did 1 event twice a month. i also did can you times, addition, lucky colours, all of which are not very popular events and are now done reguarly!

we will look into more advertisment though.

Just send me a list of events you would like to see happen from yours and ill see if they r on or not

Hmmm, can you see if you can get Ryan/Robbie/Dave or whoever to make it so it rolls over, like if it is Wednesday it makes it go Weds, Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues?

Did I say that you were a bad EO? No, I didn't. You were a good EO. I was saying that doing the event more than once by the same host becomes repetitive.

we will look into more advertisment though. Thanks

Just send me a list of events you would like to see happen from yours and ill see if they r on or not Will do next week, upcoming week is going to be a hassle.

Well maybe then you do lack ideas, because I saw the same events over and over again. And also, if you think my comment was offensive, I don't know how the heck you can say "1 sec guys, brb. comps are throwing a fit"

Whoa ladies, ladies, breathe in.... then out. Firstly, the opinion of one comps staff is not the opinion of the whole department. I actually disagree with Alex on a couple of things but I'll point out where I do agree with him and that's mainly regarding the Community Notice Board. I am aware that advertising is generally done on Habbo and HabboxLive (requesting a DJ and so on) but I'm one of those people who'll mostly stay around the forum and log in if there's something that needs to be done. If I saw an interesting event posted half an hour (not the 'NOW' events we sometimes see) before, I'd probably log on. So in that sense, I do prefer the calendar and it's good to see it's being used again.

Where I disagree is seeing the same events over and over again. I'll admit that the amount of Pay Days we've had recently is a bit off-putting but there does appear to have been an attempt to put that right. I'm not sure if it's the same system as it was before but if it's just posting in a thread what times you want your events, it's very easy to see where there's repetition and so it's easy to nip it in the bud.

To end on another positive note, I'd just like to say that the prizes for events are suddenly really worth it! I don't think I've actually won a HC TV in ages! Recently, I got a gold bar (from iNova) and I know Wizzz used to give out HC Sofas - I'm not sure if he's still staff, it's hard to keep up with Josh to be fair.

PS. LOL Matt, I won a bingo and won rights. I can't even remember which bingo it was, what a wasted prize. I hope when you said new 'marketing technique', you didn't mean give them rights but say 'WIN ACTUAL FURNI HERE'

I still disagree with you here. As I said in my post (I think) at the top, it has slightly improved but it isn't going as far as it could! Slow and steady and all that but I think the pace could be picked up.
