    hello.
im quite a old member now, but hardly ever log on, to habbox itself.. as i left habbo a while ago, and never really used the forum whilst not playing..

im wanting to start web design, as a hobbie, but i really have no clue, where to start ..

any help i would be extremely grateful.

Download some image editing software (not MS Paint) like Photo Shop, but if you cant fork out the money for PSD then I recommend Gimp or Paint.NET Then, decide what you want to design. Forums? Portfolios? Networking Sites? Gamming, Habbo, Music, Job site, etc... They all have basic things that each one of em will need. After that, look around for some inspirational websites (related to the type of website your trying to design) and bookmark it to look at later. You should then make aquick mock-up (a very basic drawing) of what you would want it to look like. Then fidle around with things in PS or whatever image editing software your using. Figure out how everything works. Google for a few Tuts on fonts or how to make images fade out in a certain way or something, and then just keep working on it till it's perfect. Thats how pretty much everybody starts I would think.

Other way would be to just dab into some web design tuts, which would give you the first hand experience if you so like.

Try some of those, may be of use to you.

Download photoshop and then get a key for it, *cough* google - serials *cough*
Once you've got that sorted just mess around with it, get used to it. If you're really in the mood try out a few tuts and just carry on messing about with the things you've learnt, now and then have a go at creating a site designs. Then just see where all this messing about leads, if you get good you can start making a bit of cash.

I started off by making very simple layouts, such as a banner, navigation and content. This was just to get the **** of how it works and then I moved on to more advanced layouts. For this, look up tutorials. I use hv-designs.co.uk as it goes into depth and you learn something new in every tutorial. Once you know how to use Photoshop (which I HIGHLY recommend) then your pretty much sorted as its just a case of having a good imagination to put good designs together.

Good luck learning, its a good thing to get into!

If you've got a windows PC, then you don't really need anything else..
Just go to accessories on your start menu and click paint. Start making shapes how you'd like the layout to be and then add colours and texture!

    Good luck ;D
