    At above, Matt copied what I said on another forum, Android STILL HAS A GOOD ENOUGH SIGNAL TO MAKE CALLS AND SURF THE INTERNET AT 0 BARS. When it cannot do these, it turns to an X. When I did the "Death grip" on my Desire, it dropped from 4 bars to 3 bars, oh, and yes, I could still make and receive calls

    Apple have also annoyed Nokia and RIM with their so called "Phone testing" with Nokia saying comments such as:

    "As you would expect from a company focused on connecting people, we prioritize antenna performance over physical design if they are ever in conflict."

    If they haven't tested them properly they'll be called up by some government agency about product bashing as well as possible court sentences due to the other manufacturers likely loss of product sales

    At recursion, why not read what I've been saying first..

    And that's why Nokia have been doing so well in "connecting people"

    I wish but that probably won't happen. All they shown was phones can drop bars while doing the death grip. But that's not the main issue with the iPhone 4, it actually could not make calls or load up webpages which they did not show on any other device. Which is then why companies like Nokia and RIM are also not happy!

    Look, I'm really not willing to argue anymore. If you say you're not some sort of droid fanboy then that is the biggest lie of the century. You'll go out of your way to make a thread for the conference, and ten still bash it even when apple give a fix. This thread isn't about why it loses signal, or how others apparently don't, it's about what apple are doing to resolve it.

    It's a good thing that Apple have announced free bumpers and returns, but they should have done something about it sooner, and I do know they are looking at a hardware fix for September, but I still think that they spent 15 minutes of that conference bashing other phones and giving unneccessary "statistics" and sales data.

    This thread is to share your views on what Apple said at the conference and this is one of the things they said. I'm allowed to make threads about any company in this section even if I do love my Opensource goodness of Android but that is not the point here, I don't know how the other phones work and I've been told how the Android signal works. I'm basically saying the way Apple said "most/all phones have this issue" in a way is incorrect. Because the iPhone 4 does lose signal but actually has issues doing the tasks a phone should do, where Android still has signal. (The video Apple showed)

    Oh and I like the free case and refunds for people who have bought bumper cases, but I'm talking about what Steve Jobs said.

    My old SE doesn't have this problem. I gripped it so tight once that the bars fell, but not to 0, and it was so tight I nearly broke it... tried it again and didn't happen. Design fault methinks.

    My Nexus One loses service when I hold it in my left hand, but I have to be gripping it pretty intensely. I don't think it helps that I live in Canada and so my closest radio tower is very far away anyhow (I do not get full coverage in my home).

    I read on Engadget that Apple's giving out some sort of free bumper / case or something. Ah well--it's better than nothing I suppose, for those poor folks who are locked in on their 3 year contracts.
    Likewise on my iPhone 4. People on here get so carrie away with isolated people on blogs/YouTube videos who are practically strangling their iPhones, and certain people on here blow it all out if proportion. Makes me laugh also, they're tryin to tell me what my iPhone 4 does. Well guess what, I don't find gripping it a problem, because I don't strangle my iPhone.

    I'll take my free bumper, thanks.

    @above; neither does the iPhone 4.

    EDIT; sorry I rofld. View this;

    So, HTC fan boys, you say your phones are so perfect, yet they have exactly the same problem.
