Stick with a Dell. I have a MacBook and at times I wish I hadn't got a Mac.

You'll get much more for your money too.

Dells are pretty good for price and have some nice upgrades available.

    Acer and Toshiba suck.

Why are people telling him to get a Macbook? 1. It's way overkill, he'd be best off with a £500 Dell 2. He'll get so much more for his money it's ridiculous 3. He won't have to put up with the **** that is EFI boot.

Erm, Toshiba is the worst make ever, they sold me a laptop which ive now had for 1 and a half years, no USB's worth, the parts bellow the mouse are cracked and falling apart and the mouse is worn out. and this isn't from lack of care. They've just happened, also I had to get the keyboard replaced and the charger porn fixed. Also my dad has a Toshiba TV and it's so slow, it's terrible.

Get a mac book pro like me Although mine was £200 more cos i wanted the bigger screen

I'd never go back to windows, even though i could have got a much better laptop for so much cheaper, but my mac does what i need it to do.
    I've left. I'm back.

You have the cash so get a macbook pro. Believe me I've had 2 £1000+ laptops (sony vaios) and they just don't compare to my imac or macbook pro in terms of performance, reliability, enjoyment using it etc.
