Anyone watched Elfen Lied? if so what are your thoughts?

My thoughts is that Elfen Lied is a really good anime, it has a really strong plot. And a fair amount of romance. I would suggest all of you anime fans to watch it !

I tried watching it but I only watched the first episode, I don't like all the gory stuff, even though its animated. ;p

Great anime I have to say, I loved it.

I think the main thing that appealed to me was the story line and the gore

Same. I watched the first few minutes, but the amount of gore and mindless killing (well, some mindless killing is alright, but didnt enjoy that too much) just wasn't my thing. It seemed rather depressing for me (especially what some ppl have said about it).

honestly it's a lot more than just 'gore', the first ep takes the piss it's not like that throughout. there's more than one story line not just 'omg she kills people', i enjoyed it anyway ^^ except the ep with the dog.....

yeah i thought that since people actually liked it, but ive seen like AMVs of it n stuff, really doesnt look like my thing.

When that happened I really wanted to strangle my tv screen. It really hurt me. I dont like the first episode though.

Was speaking to a guy while queing up in london, Basically said its not as good as other series out there just an excuse to get a girl naked and but some gore in it. Not worth my time when theres plenty to watch. So made me think if i wanna watch it or not and ive seen the 1st ep before mayb 2 years ago? and ive not even thought on watching it so maybe im not to keen on it anyway

I personally think it is one of the most overrated anime series ever. As Ryuzaki said, it really is just an excuse to get an animated girl naked and at times it seems to even forget its genre. Plus the violence and gore is pointless - it isn't really use to convey any message or any meaning - it is just there when it really didn't need to be that excessive. I never finished the series as I failed to see any merit in it and didn't want to waste my time continuing, but I can't be missing much.

I've been avoiding this since it just sounds like gore, bad story and fan service. Dunno where people are getting 'really strong plot' from, I've heard otherwise.
