I like Wigan. Yes, they are rubbish but they don't deploy anti-football tactics and they make sure they play the game the right way.

Well actually I think you're wrong. Fair enough we've not gone to the extent that Man City have and bought copious amounts of players but then who exactly has? We have Cole now, who obviously didn't show his talents in that game but we all know what he is capable of. We bought Poulsen, I think in anticipation of Mascherano departing though Hodgson insists otherwise. In the midfield I do believe we are getting stronger, Aquilani didn't play yesterday and neither did Poulsen so you forget that we do have more depth now than we have done in a long while. Jovanovic has also joined. We need a LB thats evident but apart from that and the striker issue which we've had for quite some seasons now those are the only positions I consider to be weak in depth. I know Ngog is nowhere near the same class as Torres, Van Persie, Rooney, Drogba etc but he gets the job done in the absence of Torres.

As for Arsenal, Van Persie why did he not play? No indication he was injured so why not? For all your attacking prowess it didn't get you very far. We all know Arsenal can play exceptional football but its just so unpredictable which Arsenal you get.

No he doesn't. Arsenal battled for the title throughout the whole of last season without Van Persie wheras Liverpool were useless without Torres. West Brom wanted to sign N'Gog, which speaks volumes. For many years you have been too reliant upon Gerrard and Torres and their injuries last year proved that.

I like Ngog. People criticise him and he may need a few chances to score but every time I see him play, he scores.

Ngog is a good young striker, but he isn't good enough to be 2nd choice for Liverpool. I mean, 8 Goals/Assists in 33 Games for Liverpool last season. That isn't good enough at Liverpool, not even for a young striker.

Look at Bendtner. People slate him, yet he managed 18 Goals/Assists in 29 Games last season for Arsenal, which is better then alot of strikers in the league, let alone young strikers and compared to Ngog, he was in a different league.

Van Persie didn't play the whole game as he wasn't match fit, same with Fabregas. They're not injured though. I'm happy with a draw, as we came into the game with 9 players either not fit, or injured and half of them would have started, whilst Liverpool had 1/2 out. Liverpool fans should be upset about not winning.

He's not that bad, but Liverpool should have higher standards.

I take your point about him not being good enough to be Liverpools number 2, but like I said we obviously need another striker. I don't think it's particularly fair to blame last season on the absence of Gerrard and Torres, even when they played we weren't very good. I choose to see last season as a blip. Torres and Gerrard were injured the season before yet we managed second? People forget very easily, selective memory I think.

Yes Ngog didn't score very many when you put it that way, but like Geraint says he isn't as bad as people make out, not for a young guy. He makes mistakes and has serious lapses in judgement but I don't think he's that bad. He looks it in comparison to Torres, but then not many people don't look bad in comparison.

As for Bendtner, fair enough he scored more than Ngog but he started a lot more games than Ngog did.. major difference. I wouldn't go as far to say he's in a different league, they're very much the same.

I'm upset about not winning, but only because of the nature of the goal we let in, not because of the actual result overall.
