Default Legal high dad plunges to death after "trying to fly"

A DAD who plunged 300ft to his death after taking the terrifying new legal high Ivory Wave was pretending he could FLY minutes before he fell.

Ivory Wave apparently contains 2-DPMP (2-diphenylmethylpiperidine) - a strong new legal stimulant.

I'll give a month before it's revealed that he probably never even touched the drug, or that he'd had a ridiculous amount of the most dangerous drug, alcohol.

Do you not believe his death was caused by this "strong new legal stimulant" then?

Other than through the hearsay of those close to him I don't see how they can tell he was on that (or if he had empty packets of it in his coat or something I guess..) but regardless this just highlights how crap an idea it was to ban mephedrone. I know other legal highs were around before it and a great many that have been produced since would still have been made, but I haven't seen a single one recently that's had more pros than cons, and at least with cathinones there was a bit more of an idea of just what they were doing to people chemically.

Also having acted like a bell just before he fell off doesn't mean he tried to fly off the cliff, he probably just slipped off the edge while doing whatever dance he was doing.

I blame the government imo. It's a continuous game of cat and mouse. They think they are doing a good job banning all the legal highs but all they're doing is banning one thing and then letting a 10x more dangerous chemical replace the ones they ban. If stuff like charge wasn't made illegal then most people wouldn't be moving onto stronger, more dangerous drugs instead

I believe we should look at this properly - as someone has already mentioned alcohol. This happens all the time with alcohol and a number of other things, the truth is that drugs cannot be regulated and we spend far too much money on a 'war' against drugs which achieves nothing. If people want to smoke, take drugs or drink then let them do so.

The idea that we can regulate drugs is barmy.

No, I believe it was caused by the impact of him hitting the floor after he jumped off the cliff.

As Tom said, if Mephedrone had been left legal these other more dangerous "legal highs" would probably not have surfaced - certainly not become as popular as they are doing.
