I reckon there'll be something to do with iPods... just an inkling.
I'll now look like a fool when it turns out to be some magical, amazing, incredible, wonderful, remarkable, great, really nice, really easy, better, smarter and outstanding new product.

The ad fly thing "shrink your URL's and get paid" hasn't really worked right for any of them so it doesn't take me to the actual page.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if they got rid of the older ipods, most likely the classic like you have already mentioned.

They normally don't allow any live streaming from Apple events, although a number of various websites who will be at the event will have "Live Updates" with any information/photos and so on.

Yeah, a "skip this ad" button comes up in the corner after 5 seconds. Sorry I just found the thing and had to test it out, aparently I've earned half a cent!

I wouldn't be surprised to see the shuffle go either tbh

Yes I can imagine getting rid of the shuffle and either reducing the price of the next cheapest ipod (which I am guessing is a 2GB nano?) to sort of replace it and still attract to the lower end of the market. Or maybe they will introduce something new altogether?

What new thing can they introduce? I can't think of any logical "next step" in mp3 players tbh unless there will be one with a physical keyboard so you can use facebook or something? But if that were the case we'd have heard something surely.

A new tv thing, new iPod touch range - gyroscope added, new design, possibility of 3G bundles, and upgrade camera. Maybe something about the iPhone which would start October 1st.

Well a shuffle with a little screen would be an improvement, I have always hated the idea of not having a screen!

Apple announced this evening that they will be broadcasting their media event live over the internet.

Apple will broadcast its September 1 event online using Apple’s industry-leading HTTP Live Streaming, which is based on open standards. Viewing requires either a Mac running Safari on Mac OS X version 10.6 Snow Leopard, an iPhone or iPod touch running iOS 3.0 or higher, or an iPad. The live broadcast will begin at 10:00 a.m. PDT on September 1, 2010 at www.apple.com.
