Its something to do with a different protocol that Apple is pushing in Safari. I didn't bother reading the article about it.

I wish I'd used a Firefox addon to change my useragent strings to match a Mac+Safari to try it out now

It was more around when I initially tuned into it that it appeared sluggish. Beginning with the actual pageload time which took well over five minutes and thereafter the video feed just kept cutting out.

I wish I thought of that! Ten bucks says it would have worked

Also because apple hate using other technology which is proven to work and want to use only their own deliberately so that people who do not own a recent apple product will feel left out. It's another mean marketing technique which is a reason i'm not a big fan of apple.

To be fair, as soon as I loaded the page the video was playing in what looked like near-720p quality (obviously every now and then the quality was reduced but only for short 10 second or so intervals) and stayed that way most of the keynote, the only problem was the video going black for a second every now and then.

It did work very well in my opinion and I got to see a member of Coldplay play, so I was pleased!

From what I can tell, you might as well get an iPhone over an iPod Touch now. The update appears to just be an iPhone without the phone capabilities. Would FaceTime even be useful on it, seeing as it lacks any contact like features, other than what I assume are messengers? It's like Apple have confused their products with one another, they're all a bit of a mess, especially with the new Nano which has gone backwards, but everyone knew the camera just turned it into a crappy video camcorder, rather than an mp3 player

I think the iPod touch does have a contacts thing. However, how it does it from iPod to iPod I don't know. Maybe the serial number on it? Not sure really lol

Might use serial number, or if there's an email or ID of some sort associated with it. Not entirely sure
