i'm not randomly picking on you, it's just that you're the only person that has said it's a waste of money. oh imagine giving 'ONLY 5k to charity' - a lot of rich people have earnt their money, granted a lot have not, such as footballers (who are excessively overpaid for the amount of work they do, and indeed the amount of time they don't due to 'injuries,' but that's a different debate) etc. what about specialist doctors? do they not deserve to own their money and spend it however they want? what about entepreneurs? sure, it's their idea, and they've put it towards the public, and hey, because it's so good.. it's even sold. but no. Good thing is with free will is that people can spend their money however they want. funny that.

They are selfish worthless people who need to get a grip of reality and what is happening around them.
In actual fact many celebrities and rich people have given millions, some have even given billions.

If they earn't the money, it is totally their choice what to spend it on. Not for people who are no where near as successful as them.

Calling rich people worthless makes me laugh. Do you live in a council house? Since you seem to just be jealous of their success.

I have hated rich people all my life. I am not jealous, I just think that most of them are selfish idiots. No matter how much they have, they could atleast put their money to good use instead of wasting it on crap. It's like when i was little my nanny used to tell me that she was mad at me because I didn't finish my dinner.. Could of gone to africa and saved the starving children she used to say . That is how I see it with money aswell so don't blame me. I have my opinions and if you don't like them then who cares. I'm not scared of some hxf haters who think my opinions aren't right

okay, so say you spend your money on computers, or bikes, model railways, whatever.. someone else, who thinks these things are 'stupid' will say that you're spending your money on 'crap.' it's true, there's always people that do. i've got a car, i enjoy spending money on it, i enjoy driving it. people will always be saying 'what a waste of money, should just buy a pedal bike'

it's swings and roundabouts, it's exactly what you're doing. at the end of the day if you're doing what you want ('you' being used here in reference to future astronauts) and it's going to make you happy then do it. it's not a waste of money. Fair enough, if I had £200k laying about it wouldn't be the first thing I'd spend it on, but the whole perspective of travelling to another planet (yes, the moon. whatever) when years ago nobody even thought that commercial space travel was possible.

My views on the 200k price tag is that if you can afford it; why not? If someone has been really successful in life then it is up to them to decide what they do with their money. Lots of million/billionaires donate massive amounts of money to charities, but you can't just expect them to give all of their riches away to charity, though. You could give anyone the chance to trade shoes with a billionaire and live the good life, most of them would without a doubt say yes; does this make them selfish idiots?

my opinion counts as an opinion. Judging my opinion that I will hold onto until I die is just a waste of time. Carry on as you please though because I find this quite entertaining

Last time I checked rich people spending their money did huge favours to the economy. If all the rich people left England, the country would be screwed.

Your opinion is not valid. My opinion is the only opinion that matters to me but as I said, carry on!

the whole 'your opinion is wrong, my opinion is right. despite what you have to say, i'm not going to listen to you' attitude shows a huge amount of ingorance and a substantial lack of maturity. Attitude like this in the *real* world, especailly in a professional environment will inevitably mean you'll be working in tesco at 40 to the point where if you save up enough, you might even be able to buy a television to watch the space flight on.

In my opinion. I wouldn't do it, only due to the fact that I wouldn't be allowed because of health issues lol. But its a good opportunity and if you have the money, and want to...why not?

As Tdi said, it's their money, they can spend it on what they wish, if they want to go into space fine. As long as they've earned it fairly, aka, not as a drug lord or something, then surely it is only fair that they should spend it as they want?
