I don't see how they wouldn't work, I've played such games on Windows Vista and Window 7 without any problems. :S

Dunno. it may of been a torrent i would run it in compatablity mode. it would start up. run for about 10 seconds then die. so i gave up and downgraded. All good though. got my files on another HDD

I think it must have to do with drivers. It's very hit and miss with me too especially with a game like GTA. I've experienced really hairy situations on Vista with GTA, never tried Windows 7. But then, I've also had those bad experiences with XP and the game too.
