Major explosion in Manchester

Loud as ****, being compared to the Manchester bomb but it's apparently a huge gas explosion. Nothing concrete yet.

Merlin Road, Irlam. Apparently some kids are still stuck in the rubble. idk though, going off what others from the area are saying.

Seven people have been rescued from the debris of a suspected gas explosion in Greater Manchester - but it is thought other people remain trapped.

My nana and grandad live very close to this, its like not even walking distance. (its that close) Thank god they are alright, the houses are in a complete mess. Windows are all smashed, cracks in the wall, parts of the roof are off too. The mess it has caused is just shocking to be honest.

It's gas if anything, theres a very strong smell around the surrounding areas and people around had to get out of the houses and move away. Me and my mum went round and basically got our family and brought them to our house. It's crazy and it's a bloody mess :/

Theres like three houses or so that are full on ruined, then peoples houses surrounding it have got he impact of the blast so windows are smashed, cracks in walls and roofing is gone too.

Omg. I hope everyone who got caught up in the blast are well and are able to recover

Update:

A number of people have been evacuated from surrounding homes and sent to Fiddlers Lane Community Primary School, which was has been closed to pupils.

The devastation this blast has caused it shocking.
