I don't have a problem with them. I think they're quite nice to have any time for celebrations. Birthdays, new year, bonfire night. And my cat is fine with it. He just jams on the chair (Y). So tbh, if your pet is going crazy, they need to be tied or calmed, because it seems to me most pets are fine with it.

I understand where you're coming from and I don't believe they should even be sold months before Bonfire Night (I constantly hear them in October) and then they continue until like December, it's stupid.

I hate fireworks, they're too noisy and today people were aiming fireworks into shops down our main road.

Your pet seems to be the only one who's fine with it.. so it's hardly "most!"

My neighbours seem fine and a couple of people in the thread say the same. We've had tonnes of fireworks tonight due to the local school being about 200 meters away doing their annual display, as well as private displays along the road.

Personally I don't see the fuss, I think it's a nice thing for celebrating certain occasions.

they shouldn't be banned, they're just a bit of fun.
my dog gets scared for the first 10 minutes or something, then he's fine, we just give him alot more attention than normal at the time hes scared, then hes fine.

Or why not just ban pets?

See how ridiculous the logic of this suggestion is?

And if you wanna buy me flowers
    Just go ahead now
And if you like to talk for hours
    Just go ahead now

fireworks bore me. however they are a tradition.
    and they shouldn't be banned.

you can get sedatives for dogs that just makes them all calm and that about fireworks. you can get it from your vets.
so if you're that worried, do that.

Not really since it's illogical and impossible to ban all animals. His point is that Fireworks cause distress to all animals. I'm not necessarily saying they should be banned but it's not as simple as "calming your pet down" either. I spent the whole of last night sat in the kitchen with my dog with the radio on loud to try and mask the sound of the fireworks, he was led in the middle of the kitchen panting with his eyes wide open looking at the window for 6 hours. It causes animals a ridiculous amount of stress and thats obviously not just pets. The problem is that they do go on for months, it would be fine if it were just 4 nights a year but from Halloween until New year I usually hear at least 1 a day and as anyone with animals afraid of fireworks will know, that sets them off for hours.
