he's not saying ban animalsNot really since it's illogical and impossible to ban all animals. His point is that Fireworks cause distress to all animals. I'm not necessarily saying they should be banned but it's not as simple as "calming your pet down" either. I spent the whole of last night sat in the kitchen with my dog with the radio on loud to try and mask the sound of the fireworks, he was led in the middle of the kitchen panting with his eyes wide open looking at the window for 6 hours. It causes animals a ridiculous amount of stress and thats obviously not just pets. The problem is that they do go on for months, it would be fine if it were just 4 nights a year but from Halloween until New year I usually hear at least 1 a day and as anyone with animals afraid of fireworks will know, that sets them off for hours.he's saying don't let them live in your house. and it would be as impossible as trying to ban fireworks. it's a tradition.
Most dogs are scared by fireworks. It is not illogical at all - what's illogical is saying "ban pets".
I have my own flat - there's no where to tie them up, and they're Staffies, they'd break away in about a second.
Fireworks cause far too much trouble for what they're worth.
okay we'll ban smoking, alcohol, television, fast foods and games consoles aswell shall we?Most dogs are scared by fireworks. It is not illogical at all - what's illogical is saying "ban pets".

Yeh but a similar logic works for anything really. Why not ban movies because they cause me distress. Probably not the best example because i can avoid them, but if you think like that because its only some peoples preference, then everything would be banned. They give people pleasure. Most dogs are scared by fireworks. It is not illogical at all - what's illogical is saying "ban pets".

Movies, video games etc cause yourself distress and not others.Yeh but a similar logic works for anything really. Why not ban movies because they cause me distress. Because having dogs outside, where the fireworks are louder, is better? What?
And mentioning the banning of TVs, etc is absurd. These are fireworks. Be serious.
And why the hell should I have to sedate my dogs? Err, I don't think so.
A domesticated animal shouldn't have to be scared out of its wits because of something it has no control over. And let's face it, unless you're watching Times Square or London on New Year's Eve, fireworks are ****e.

like i said, probably a bad example. But what louder said, smoking, alcohol, TV, fast foods etc. In fact, even movies. People see what happens in them and might try to do the same. This could result in harm to me..
