Alienware seems like such a waste of money, but if you can't find another laptop with similar/decent specs, then you could go with them. Dell support varies - I've heard good reviews and bad reviews of their support. Just because a company like Dell is huge doesn't necessarily mean their support will be phenomenal, because you cannot compare the two. It's like calling "Ariel", the small British car manufacturer a lousy company in terms of support, when you're just as likely as having good support from big or small companies - and yes, Ariel have phenomenal support if their cars go wrong It all comes down to whether or not a company can be bothered to fork out for additional services such as after-care services, warranty, technicians etc. Because computers are complex pieces of equipment, the service you get falls down on the expertise of the workers and a case-by-case situation. Also, Apple are a large company and their support can be lousy if they're too lazy to solve issues as soon as they appear. iPhone 4, -I say no more of its terrible release

I would go to a high street store, it makes it so much easier to get replacements and fixed parts. And I wouldn't call having five engineers coming round my house to replace parts which they kept breaking after having to spend 4 days replying to emails from a terrible support guy called Ravi. It's odd that the support was so poor considering I was meant to have 'premium' support meaning that they prioritise my support requests.

What do you mean by high street?

If you mean one of those crappy, over priced dodgy shops then what?

And then go through your hdd if it breaks.

Wasn't sure if he meant places like currys - or people who I would personally call a high street store like "computer systems and goods" lol
