Default What's your opinion on FIFA?

Recently FIFA has been getting a lot of bad press. There has been talk about corruption and problems in general in the organisation over the years, however it was really this year with the world cup that it has made much news. So what do you think of FIFA? Do you think these alegations are true? Are they being misunderstood? Should a new organisation replace FIFA?

Personaly i think greed for moneyhas destroyed any credibility FIFA had. The fact that Qatar, a country of under 1.5 million people, with one of the worst football teams in the world, got the host for one of the years just goes to show its all about lining the high ranking FIFA officials' pockets.

    I hate football alltogether.
Fifa are just greedy, all they want is money, not what would be best for football.

    I love the PS3 Games...LOL.

But yeah I think it's awful at the moment. They need a total shake up of the entire committee. Chairman & all. They need to actually look at what the game needs (goal line technology ect.) and not about what makes them the monehz.

At the moment they're just a load of crooks. We were robbed of the World Cup by bribes and well...I think if Fifa wants any credibility for years to come they need to make an extreme change. They need to bring the game into the 21st century with goal line technology, replays before making decisions like in rugby & cricket & whatever...and just generally improve all round ;l

The only reason why Russia won the bid is because money talks.
Russia isn't exactly a safe country to be walking around, especially with gangs and neo-nazis mixed into the lot. Football hooliganism is also rife over there and the police do next to nothing to combat that, i think FIFA will end up regretting their decision.
However, we said South Africa wouldn't be a very safe place for a world cup, and South Africa handled that immensely and kept everybody as safe as they could, i hope Russia can do the same.
I can't even talk about Qatar winning the 2022 bid, that's just astonishing - an absolute hotspot for terrorists especially when countries like England and USA will be playing there.

Its hard, as most of us are English and American, to have an unbiased view on Fifa after the recent World Cup bid results, but I do think some reformation is in order.
Goal line technology should've been brought in ages ago, although, again I obviously have more of a view on this as an England fan,
In response to Russia winning the bid, yes it does show money talks, that's because a lot of the money they're spending will actually make some fantastic stadiums which I believe will help host a great world cup.
Gangs, hooliganism and terrorism are all pretty rife in England and the USA so I don't think we can use that against Russia and Qatar.
I think it's hard for USA to compete in these bids because we've come to expect so much from the 'most powerful country in the world', but as Fifa have said, they like to rotate continents every 4 years, and USA don't really share the North American continent with many other suitable countries, so I think sometimes Fifa overlook them.

All they care about atm is money.

I find it disgraceful how the country that gave football to the world has only hosted it once.

I think that statements completely wrong.
Neo-Nazism in Russia is RIFE, and i mean rife.
Hooliganism is again, rife, fair enough there a few scraps at the weekend up and down our country, but in Russia its a serious problem.
To say England and the US are on the same level as Russia and Qatar when it comes to gangs and terrorism, shows that you must clearly be un-educated. (Not meaning to be rude, but please look up on the matter).
I'm all for an open mind and trying new things, but Qatar and Russia will be quite an intimidating and scary place to go for a world cup when you see and hear things, such as the things ive said, on the news etc.

Bonjour, la noirceur, mon vieil ami
    Je suis venu te reparler
    Car une vision piétinante doucement
A laissé ses graines lorsque je dormais
    Et la vision
Qui était plantée dans mon cerveau
    Demeure toujours
    Parmi le son du silence

I understand what you're getting at, and yes, the problems you stated are generally worse in the Qatar and Russia than in England and America, however I don't recall the last time Qatar experienced a severe terror threat? And it seems to me you're just using terrorism as an example because of its location, which seems a bit niave.
And you say it would be an intimidating and scary place to go, but I'm pretty sure, people from Russia and Qatar would feel the same about England and America, especially as they'd only hear the extreme stories such as 9/11, 7/7 etc.
