As others have said, it really is stupid taking your iPod anywhere near a sink let alone a bath.

When my old iPod Nano, a couple of years ago was allegedly water damaged they just did the usual tests for water damage. I don't think I got a very nice genius, as he just said there is nothing you can do a part from paying for a new one with a discount.

I have an iPod Touch now though, which is much more reliable

    Good luck.

I just had it in my pocket and put it on the shelf to the side of the bath (where I've put it during every bath/shower since I've had it) and it just slid off

I hope I get a nice genius...if it dies that is...

I took an iPhone 3GS back to Apple three days ago, i bought one off EBay to sell on, a couple of days later it came up with multiple errors that i couldn't fix (think it was water damaged, but the water damage indicator inside the headphone jack had been replaced, sad much?), as you can imagine it was out of warranty but fortunately, they replaced it, as a good will gesture. Just explain to them fully what happened and they will probably replace it.

I'd imagine especially now as it's close to Christmas they are more likely to replace it for you.

Morale of the story? Don't use your iPod touch for pr0nz and don't **** near water.

    That is all.

I know it's been mentioned but you really shouldn't have tried turning it back on when it has been in the water. I know it's a natural reaction but it's a big no no. Until you go to the applestore, keep it in bag of rice in an airing cupboard or somewhere like that, you may get lucky.

But because you turned it back on whilst wet, you may have blew it.
