    Default Average weight?

Lately I've been a little worried about my weight, no I aren't massive, and I aren't a twig, but I'm getting a bit of a podge and it's annoying.
    What I eat:
Breakfast: Normally 2 slices of toast, or nothing if I cba to eat breakfast.
Lunch: Sandwich, bottle of juice/water maybe a packet of crisps if I fancy them
Dinner: Depends what we have in :L Nothing with too many calories in it I think.
I'm about 5ft 5/6 I think, and atm I think I weight about 8 and a half stones, what is the average weight for a 13 year old girl, and are the meals I have good?
oh and if I fancy it I snack, like crisps and the odd time a bit of chocolate - this is where i'm going wrong I think.

Try this BMI calculator (http://apps.nccd.cdc.gov/dnpabmi/Calculator.aspx) and it will give you the weight you 'should' be at.

    Note:
If your BMI is less than 18.5, it falls within the "underweight" range.
If your BMI is 18.5 to 24.9, it falls within the "normal" or Healthy Weight range.
If your BMI is 25.0 to 29.9, it falls within the "overweight" range.
If your BMI is 30.0 or higher, it falls within the "obese" range.

BMI doesn't take into account things like your basic body size/build so don't follow it religiously as though it can never be wrong, however 8 and a half at your height isn't bad - but again just knowing your height and weight doesn't give the full picture, there's such a thing as "skinny fat" where you have people with generally small proportions but a chunky belly and thighs or something which obv doesn't look good. The danger lies in you only being 13 and therefore being likely to naturally put on weight in the next few years, but rather than worry about it constantly just try to stay healthy and enjoy your life, maybe get into some sports or dance or something to keep the "podge" away. Ultimately it comes down to what you want to look like and how much that will or won't bother you

    thanks for answering,
and I do core Pe 2 hours a week, and drama which is sort of physical activity, and I walk to and from school.
and my problem atm is that I eat quite a bit, and what I eat goes to my bum and thighs, and from the top of my thighs downwards I don't like, my belly isn't as much of a problem, it annoys me a little when I wear certain things that would show it off a bit, but my bum is actually quite big and my thighs are quite big, is there exercises that could sort of tone my lower body?
Cus atm I'm quite self conscious.

At 13 the average weight is roughly 6/7 stone...not to make you feel bad, I knew a girl who weighed about 14 stone then lol.

You seem to eat a balanced diet, maybe grab fruit instead of toast for breakfast? And eat more fruit & veg (I feel like such a hypocrite considering I'd never touch the stuff LOL)...

Just cut down on snacks ect. ect. Maybe walk to school (if you don't already) and just generally chose an option where you get a bit of exercise if you can.

thanks robbie, and I know girls who weigh lots more than me, and it shows really bad on them, I'm probably the most average in weight in my house, and I don't mind my body, I'd just like to make it look nicer.

I don't think you should be worried about your weight at 13 and from what you've said, you seem to eat just as much as most people I know, so perhaps its just a bit of "puppy flab?"
    A lot of my friends had this and you should see them now... PHWOAR (;
But yeah, your weight isn't anywhere near something you need to be worrying about, so just have fun whilst you're still allowed to not care about your image!

Dont starve yourself throughout the day, it wont do you any good; if you want to loose little bits of wait, the GDA Is 2000 calories for a women i believe? and im sure you'll eat Nothing close to that, Tip:

Eat Little, but often, this will increase your metabolism.
If you starve yourself your body will slow down your metabolism which will the affect the rate you are burning calories, which in turn means your body will story those calories giving you some 'podge'.

You shouldnt just eat the bare minimum either, if your cutting down on food, eat no less then 1500 (500 calories below the GDA). This way you'll loose the weight slowly and wont cause any problems along the way.
