Dual Monitors

Ok, So i downloaded VMWare (Snow Leopard) today to run along side Windows 7, is there any way I can get Windows 7 on my Laptop screen and Snow Leopard on another monitor please help!

Plug your monitor into the laptop through the VGA port.
Go to your graphics properties and then monitor settings.. should be able to config it through there.

Sorry, don't know too much about Windows 7.

i don't think it's possible to run two separate operating systems at once (both at the same time) on one system

To do this you'd plug the external monitor into your laptop and set it up to work with the Mac. With the virtual machine in Window mode drag it over to your external monitor. When it's on your external monitor put it in fullscreen and it should will go into fullscreen mode on just that monitor.

If you're still having difficulty doing it that way I'd say you have a slightly dated version of Vmware Fusion - I'd suggest looking into getting a program called Parallels which is another hardware virtualization program for the Mac.

It's called hardware virtualization. Mostly it's used on servers, where hosts create virtual servers on one main server to sell to customers. It's also commonly used by the Apple community to run Windows on Macs when a user wants to run a Windows application (normally gaming). You can do hardware virtualization on too with Vmware, Microsoft Virtual PC, or Virtualbox.

So your going to have your main OS on the laptop screen and your Virtual OS on the external display? It's doable with VirtualBox, as far as I know. The guys at my work experience ran Ubuntu as their main OS, and XP through VirtualBox, on a second display. Not sure if Snow Leopard is comptaible with VirtualBox, though. If it is, let me know, I might do that on my main rig.

I got this working sweet, I have Windows 7 Ultimate running as my main OS (Main Monitor), then in my VMWare Virtual Machine I am running Snow Leopard OS (Secondary Monitor) and it runs like a dream.
