Everything should be moving towards it. I personally wouldn't buy an ethernet cable that wasn't CAT 6 anymore. They're like only a few pence more expensive than CAT 5e

CAT 6 is a cable made of higher quality materials and with better shielding than CAT 5e, CAT 5e is the same upgrade, but over standard CAT 5.

These things are important. The max speed CAT 5 cables are certified to handle is 100Mbps, CAT 5e 1000Mbps (1Gbps) and CAT 6 up to 10Gbps (up to 55m in length) when it becomes available, CAT 6a 10Gbps and up to 100m in length.

If you don't like it don't read it .

How is this relevant to the topic on hand? Other than further proving my point of course

And he was answered what Cat5e is in general terms of being an Ethernet cable. Then other users expanded on that asking questions in regards of it

The whole fact that this thread a fail becasue your all arguing over something little.

Jordy was right, it should have been called an ethernet cable, for the guy sake as we are trying to help the guy who is struggling with very low knownledge of computers..

What the point of giving him these numbers cables and shizzle which just confuses him.

    Just my two points.

See I've been using an ethernet cable to connect with my laptop but I can only connect when I'm in the kitchen. I wanna be able to use it on the couch and in my room etc so an ethernet cable doesn't really solve my problems.
