I'd recommend looking into some sites that actually do custom built ones for you. But if your not going to play top end games then just go for something for about £300-£400
    Dell are fantastic.

This. 2 Dell computers since about 2004 and they're still living. My dad has an old dell laptop and it's still working. Along with that, the delivery timing is not bad and the prices aren't bad either (although both the computers were on offer ).

Most the people I know who build their own machines and stuff find them very overpriced and stuff. But its all about opinions

Every laptop is overpriced. Doesn't matter what brand it is.

Which is why the best solution is always to build your own. But if you don't know how to do that, then unfortunately you have no choice but to spend a lot of money.

I recently bought the Alienware M11x and can safely say I do not regret spending £750 what so ever.

It's very hard to build your own laptop.

Exactly. Which is why most people just buy them. And unfortunately, buying a decent laptop from any company, is going to cost you a lot of money.

Apple are the worst for stealing money off people, Alienware are also bad, but every company do it.

No point in complaining about laptops being overpriced because that's just how the world is and it will never change.

Laptops aren't overpriced, they are sold at what is the market value is and is what the consumer is prepared to pay, if you want to build your own laptop you'll have to design it yourself and then go to a factory to do it.

You don't have to go to a factory to build your own computer lol.

I don't really see what you're getting at?

My first comment only suggested Alienware. They do desktop PC's as well as laptops.
