Admins have had their rep power increased to give newer users a boost? I don't remember ever getting repped by an admin when I joined. Why introduce this now? Everyone with high rep power hasn't just magically gotten it, they've all earnt it over time, something that newer users are just as capable of doing.
Management only repeated what I said to them days ago which is correct, I was testing something and from that test I have decided to make it stick.I just love how you and management never say the same thing.
You say it is to bump new members along, but some of us earn our rep - so getting 50 taken off us just because management disagree seems slightly harsh - it would take over 10 people to +rep you to get above that again (using an average).
Are we forgetting, new members should not be given pointless rep
Why not just give new members bonus rep if you suddenly care about them having rep?
No we are not forgetting "new members should not be given pointless rep", are you forgetting that admins do use the rep system responsibly?
Giving new members "bonus" rep would be the same as giving pointless rep.
At the end of the day we don't -rep for inappropriate reasons, looking at the way rep is used by admins 95% of it is positive.
lol well if this is happening i demand a +rep from mattg and olior else a high rep for myself

I was merely pointing out, that if a new member posts something positive/contributes I am sure other members will +rep (I always do).Management only repeated what I said to them days ago which is correct, I was testing something and from that test I have decided to make it stick.

Thanks for thr reply, I am pleased to see you covering what has been said on the top line - as I don't want to argue with anyone - especially even they are simply pasing on what they have been told
If they haven't magically received high rep does that mean I can go through the top 50 rep holders and remove the pointless rep? This was the reason why I implemented this and it was after I went through certain users reputation, feeling that removing this rep would cause more of an outrage I decided to up the admin rep as I know we don't abuse the system and it will help things overall.Admins have had their rep power increased to give newer users a boost? On the point of admins being oh-so responsible and fair with rep, I of course don't expect them to reward every single good post but I have to go back through 10 pages of rep to find an admin repping me, or 148 entries to be exact. Now yes, plenty of my posts are just SO fantastic that multiple people have repped me for them, but that leaves let's say around 125 apparently repworthy posts which have gone unrewarded, poor me.
That's not to say that I actually expect admins to rep me all the time (although obv I am great), I just don't believe it's plausible to suggest that a higher rep power ought to be bestowed upon them in the name of fair advancement
