Default Habbox Q2 2011 - What would you like to see?

I know there's already a thread for Habbox V6 but this thread is about Habbox in general.

What would you like to see on HabboxForum in the coming months?
What would you like to see from Habbox Events in the coming months?
What would you like to see from Habbox Help Desk in the coming months?
What would you like to see from HabboxLive in the coming months?
What would you like to see from Rare Values in the coming months?
What would you like to see from Competitions in the coming months?

You can give Habbox.com content feedback in the other thread but any ideas that affect the whole of Habbox can be put here.

    +Rep to all good feedback.

What would you like to see on HabboxForum in the coming months?

    • More departmental competitions
    • Definitely more of the bigger events, there were lots before and it worked surprisingly well. Now I have the impression that you're all "idead-out" and I'm sure that's not the case so I think that HabboxForum should start having that idea with the events again, it worked well. Maybe they could team up with Habbox Events.

What would you like to see from Habbox Events in the coming months?

    • More departmental competitions - definitely here as they've already done a couple and the ideas can be so varied
    • More weekly events which are original. There used to be 3 original events and now there's just one plus a quiz and bingo. Sure these are nice but a permanent event really has to have something which differentiates it from the same old, same old.

What would you like to see from Habbox Help Desk in the coming months?

    • More departmental competitions
    • Less clashing with the Habbox Events department, start communicating, it's something Habbox does lack I'm afraid and really needs to be worked on.
    • Talkshows etc. - wasn't there meant to be some sort of Meet the GM team or am I just dreaming?! If you could get a Habbo staff in that'd be rather cool, whether or not that's possible or not as I know it is hard I don't know.
    • Safety night. I'll just copy what I wrote before: "I once again bring up the idea of the Habbox Safety Schmooze! Maybe sometime on a Sunday, perhaps like 1pm so then you've got 11pm AEST, 1pm BST, 8am EST so it's quite fair for most people and doesn't get in the way of Prize Collection if people need to go there. Of course a safety quiz is a must to see how much people know anyway and maybe the second section could be half planned and half improvised, the staff check out what answers were wrong from some people and then explain why to give them a better understanding. I think it'd be really useful to get something like this up so it does promote the safety aspects of being on Habbo."
    • Have something existing in the 2nd area, why was it all removed? Pointless?!

What would you like to see from HabboxLive in the coming months?

    • More departmental competitions
    • More advertisement of permanent shows. HabboxLive have done a lot of giveaways etc. recently which is fantastic but let's put it into context: they're a radio department. What I think is lacking is the permanent shows and how much they're advertised and possibly their uniqueness. It'd be interesting to have more non-Habbo weekly shows because these aren't on a frequent basis (i.e. every other hour) and it means they suit others, possibly even Habbo users because after all, we all have lives and that means they don't just expect everything to be "80 LISTENERS TO WIN HC SOFAZZZZ", they expect some goss for example!

What would you like to see from Rare Values in the coming months?

    • More departmental competitions
    • Bring back Trade Tips, it will work as long as it's being stuck to as the last couple of times the person writing it just got fed up and lacked motivation and enjoyment of writing it.

I'll continue writing anything I think of

Ah right yeah I know what I was going to write.

I don't know how the Staff List of Events for the Events Department is going, I know I was going to start on this but then I resigned however if that's been done this idea could be rather useful for the department.

When the HxF calendar was used for events, what happened was that a sentence would explain the game, for example: "Run to the seats before everyone else in tonight's Fallin' Furni hosted by Dilusionate at 8pm!" I was thinking we could base the idea off that, if the List of Events has been written this'd be rather easy to implement (not so sure about the coding side of it mind you!!!) There could be a page where it explains most events (maybe even add original ones) for example "To play this game you need to try your best to run to the seats as fast as you can!" or something for FF and "This game involves you repeating whatever the host says quickly and accurately" for Fastest Typer. Then when events are added to the calendar, it recognises the name of the event, for example "POD RACING" and will then take the description of Pod Racing so when you hover over the game in the event widget it'll tell you a brief description of the game. It means people will understand how to play the game before even arriving, or at least have some sort of idea about it. This will take quite a lot of work if the List of Events hasn't been updated but if it has, you'll have achieved three things:

    1) The staff list of events will therefore be fully updated and more game variation will occur.
    2) There'll be a list of events as part of the Habbox.com content meaning that people who don't understand how to play games in the first place will be able to learn.
    3) Same sort of thing as 2 really but it'll explain the events before arriving to them by using the events widget.

Is it possible? Is it functional? I'm not sure about the first answer but the second I definitely would say it would be. As I said, it'll take hard work if the LOE hasn't been finished but it'd be a rather cool feature to have.

For HabboxLive, as Alex said they need better perm shows. In the olden days, we used to have shows that defined the radio stations, things like Primetime Live, F5, Vault Show, Chatterbox etc. These were shows that people would clear their schedule to tune in for, because they were unique and each of them were extremely well structured and promoted. I feel this is a further issue for HabboxLive to improve on, are such shows etc.

Also, I feel that we are again moving away from recognizing HabboxLive being an international fansites. I mostly see events during the UK primetimes and I feel we need more promotion of the EST and even more so of the AEST timezones. When I was Head DJ, I tried my hardest to make sure my timezone was being recognized with things like giveaways, setting up smaller events or shows etc. You could even have perm shows during these timezones. Of course the recognition is that the fansite is more predominantly aimed at the folks from the UK, but we must not swerve from the int. times.

Yeah I agree despite you using the i word! The amount of events have been fantastic but if you're going to do them they should be spread out and really promoting the AEST and EST users. This is something events need to work on too because otherwise you've got two departments battling because they are all trying to do as much in the BST timezone. I noticed it a few weeks ago where I saw quite a lot of HabboxLive Habbo related events going on at the time as events. COMMUNICATION IS THE KEY: IT IS NOT HARD TO HAVE A QUICK CHIT CHAT OR A PM OR A VISITOR MESSAGE OR SOMETHING. It is something Habbox lacks (I think I did mention that in my first post) and more adventurous could be tried if there was a little talk somewhere across the line.

Let's not forget that HabboxLive is not the fansite - Habbox is.

The problem is, the large majority of our users are British. So more applications fgor jobs will be sent in from those in Britain, meaning there is a higher chance the successful applicants are British.

I know something that Jess is working on currently is perm shows so I think there will be a few changes / additions to them soon probably!

Whenever we have giveaways we always have one at uk/est/aest times. I'm always the one that tends to stay up to 3am doing the giveaway and Jess is on at 9am to do aest giveaways. I just think that giveaways is something that needs to be worked but when you're lacking in furni it doesn't really help!

I'll get shot down for saying this or called selfish but I don't care. The bit about "HabboxLive and events battling out because they are doing too much at the same time" I totally disagree, HabboxLive may be a part of Habbox (yes i'm quite aware that it's part of Habbox before that excuse comes out) but it is also it's own department and site (at the moment) . The fact that we can't have events at the same time as HxEvents is silly. It's all HABBOXLIVE MUST ADVERTISE EVENTS, YOU MUST DO IT. What do we get back from events for sending all the people to their events? Absolutely nothing. Not once recently have I seen HabboxLive mentioned in any events so it's not promoting Habboxlive and then if we can't do our own events and habbox events are not promoting habboxlive then that's when HabboxLive listeners start to fall.

What would you like to see on HabboxForum in the coming months?

Some more bigger events would be good. I know that section competitions were starting to come back slowly and I think that is something else that there could be a few more of. I like the "Quick Quizzes" that are posted in the notices so certainly keep them. When I say more bigger events I mean the sort of things like Big Brother but not big brother because that was too long (But it could work if it was shorter)!

What would you like to see from Habbox Help Desk in the coming months?

More events :p I know they have that separate bit of the room now and for ages they have said "It's great we can do more events!!!" & everyone posted saying it's been said before it's a great idea but events will need to be done regularly and I think i've seen like two or three. It's certainly an improvement and it's good to see the SNQ going ahead most weeks too

@sct: Isn't the point of having a Head DJ from every timezone there so that they can do events? Otherwise that just defeats one of the points of doing so (obviously apart from the DJ monitoring jibber jabber). You guys shouldn't have to be the ones staying up late for that :p. Also, I'd be weary to start being overly reliant on giveaways!
