The Van Gogh episode wasn't half bad in my eyes, it's just the choreography of the show seems to have went a bit down hill in parts like fighting / running / defending.

They need to lay off the CGI too it's cheap and tacky, Dr Who is known for its bad ass costume designs, so stop taking the easy road you lazy *******s.

Van Gough was not about the alien. It was about his depression and how the mind is very complex.
I found it one of the best episodes and I admit in the museum in the end I had a little tear.

They could have created a much better monster for him though, maybe like the one that was in the 2012 olympics episode would have been more suited lmao.

I didn't find anything about that monster special. Look at Doctor Who with RTD you had the big CGI lazarus. I think the new series of Doctor Who feels so dam fresh

It seems to just be spitting far to much high contrasts crap out atm, in the new angels episode it just seemed to be far to prop heavy & colourful, even the tardis is bluer, like what the actual **** lmao.

I want to see them putting more effort in, the vampires episode would have been a **** load more scarier if it was in the dark, but they decide to shoot such a monster during day light :S Kind of makes the whole im versing a vampire thing void when you have daylight on your side

But liam you idiot, they were giant fish!
Anyway I read in the sun (yes, bad source but still) that each episode costs 1m, I mean blimey. They have to get lost of merchandise cash to pay for it but this confuses me when bluray discs are mega expensive but they packaged 5 or 6 into last series box set.

Also what are they doing to tribute Liz? I heard they were doing something but can't remember what. Also in the Sun again was Tom Baker writing a tribute article to her, he looks well weird compared to the younger him.

    LOL The Sun.

Don't believe "£1million" for a second. You wonder why they had to hire some young pretty looking actors and actresses to fill the boots of Tennant and company? Smith is being paid half of what Tennant earned and Karen around half of what the average companion would get for three series. The series itself has had its budget cut and cut throughout the years and I'd expect it to carry on getting cut. The likes of Midnight and Boom Town were written and filmed to save moneys. Last series it was the same with the Van Gogh episode, which is one of my favourites of all time.

    Fair play

But it's still a bit of a cop out when you name the episode after vampires, and they end it with them well, being not vampires. It's ****** writing in all honesty.

The BBC give them £700,000 per episode, but they cost £1 million to make. So they need to sell merchandise to get more money. Every series there's been an episode that doesn't have more than one location or lots of props or had great CGI. Moffat said he could spend Avatars budget easily.

Although, it's the budget that cause the team to be creative. They only made the tardis a police box to save budget in the original.
