Hmm well I thought that was a rather weak episode mainly because it didn't answer many questions from the previous episode and just decides to add more. All very well adding questions but if you neglect the main plot in the process, it all seems rather rushed.
As for the doctor advocating "genocide", why are you so surprised? In Journey's End, it says that the Doctor turns humans into weapons. Simple as that. This is just the Doctor doing the same thing here. Personally, I don't think it will be genocide simply because I imagine they'll be back soon. The whole plot was just wrapped up so quickly that I imagine it isn't the last we've heard of it.
"The girl is the key..... let's have more adventures" or something along those lines. Did a similar thing in Pandorica Opens "never one to ignore a coincidence... unless you're busy in which case always ignore a coincidence" NO THIS IS LAZY WRITING. Have something to stop the Doctor from looking into it further not just talk his way into not looking further.
Apart from that, OMG WHAT A CLIFFHANGER.
