And the beauty competitions? Very often there are beauty pageants and model competitions in the newspaper or a local pub where people are asking for votes. I don't see how this is wrong? Of course it's wrong when people are begging or even bribing for votes but for example, going into the HxHD and saying "Vote for me in this thread" shouldn't be frowned upon? It's simply asking for support in a competition.
I think what elliot is trying to say, is that asking is fine, but begging and bribing is wrongAnd the beauty competitions? i did ask him to vote for me? i don't see why it's so badi need the creds for events.. and i don't mind if you think i'm making it up as an exscuse or anything because i would if i were you but i'm generally being honest

cats > you
And I agree with him on that. My first post wasn't directed at him, it was directed at people who's posted things such as this:
Not targeting Rozi or anything, just the first post I came across when looking for an example. Maybe Paige did ask for a vote? Most people in the competition are doing the exact same thing. It's ridic' to target people looking for support in a competition >.<
I'm completely behind you, I really am. But once again, think about it: a model would tell someone to vote for them no end, but they would be there in the flesh or as a picture for people to see.And the beauty competitions? People would see them and think 'Yeah, they're hot- why not etc.'- but they are blanketing, giving people awareness really. In this case it's mostly made up of individual targeting, saying "Look, it doesn't matter whether I'm attractive or not- you're my friend/someone on my friends list anyway. Vote for me, don't consider my beauty."
Edit: The point's been made above perfectly, we're on the same level here I believe.

Yeah we're pretty much on the same page here but are you trying to say it's okay for people to go into a room such as the HxHD and ask for votes but it's not the same as when they ask another user on MSN because at that stage it's just turning into a popularity contest?I'm completely behind you, I really am. Thanks a lot. Just cos I'm fat means I'm not beautiful? :SI believe in some respects it is a popularity contest. I know all my male votes were pretty insincere in the whole 'beauty' aspect, but I did vote for the girls I thought were pretty. It's natural to be subconsciously influenced by all aspects of someone even if you're only analysing one part of them.
I demand all fat people to -rep rosie.
The fat revolution starts tomorrow!
You totally do care or you wouldn't ask people why they didn't vote duh lol
I think she was actually asking the person involved why he changed his vote, not going around being like "OI, Y DINT U V0T3 4 ME BRUV?!?". If people were actually doing this there'd be a few riots![]()
