To be fair, most people wouldn't know they've done something wrong until they've broken a rule. They do not think and debate for half an hour before they post to see if it is appropriate. They might inately believe or understand that their behaviour is socially acceptable and normal

Back on topic. Not sure why people keep suggesting this daft idea of having an 18+ forum. It won't work for its desired use. If you want such a thing to exist, suggest a new tool which allows member to sign up or agree to be a part of a forum or usergroup that makes them liable for their actions and aware of what they are getting themselves into - much like a ToS or a "mature/mild content warning" you get on 4oD.

Not that we need one, we seem to be doing fine as we are at the moment. You can talk about sex until you're blue in the face, provided you're not graphic

I wouldn't say that's offensive at all. More laughable infact. If you're making comments like that filtered or inappropriate, then it says more about you and the moderation than the members. Let the members laugh at people who say stuff like that, while you go after people who are actually offensive

After actually thinking about this situation, why would we need to talk about sex on the forum anyway?

not really, there is general so you could add an 18+ section for a place that doesnt apply the rules that are in place for younger members

There is no argument against a 18+ forum, it's called a disclaimer.

Actually there is, there is no need for it. There is no need to start limiting the younger users from using such a forum and the time isn't right to add an 18+ forum when activity isn't to it's highest. It would only divide the forum communities even more and we just don't want that, that is why an age restricted forum won't be coming to HabboxForum any time soon.

    Huh

It's not coming to habbox because the forums activity is terrible :S

I don't want an 18+ forum it'd probs just die anyway or make younger members jelly, I just wish I could discuss things that isn't actually graphic without being warned for posting graphic content.

No, I stated that one of the reasons. As you don't want to split the communities up even more when activity isn't at the highest surely? Plus its impossible to moderate/police in regards of the users age and there isn't really any huge benefits of having one. Sorry for the confusion.

Which I totally agree. How I see it is moderators should stop and think before warning someone, they should ask themselves "is this really offensive? would someone be genuinely effected badly by this post?" because lets be honest most of the time that isn't the case. Fair enough it might be slightly jumping into a rule but discretion should be used negatively as well as positively.
