If we state our intention to pull out of the EU, then make the deals, then leave, it will be fine.
Don't forget, we provide the EU with stuff too...it's not just us who would lose out.

I have signed the petition and urge anyone else to sign, this is the future of this country and we need to care.

Wrong, leaving the European Union does not mean ending trade with the EU. Switzerland and Norway are two key examples (Switzerland being locked within the centre of the EU) of economies which are far smaller and less important than the United Kingdom (we are the 6th largest in the world) but of which are not members of the EU but still trade with the EU. Another note, the United Kingdom would revive its WTO seat if we left the European Union allowing us to lobby our interests more forcibly on the WTO rather than the EU doing it for us.. along with 26 other countries.

Now I ask you, has anyone ever suggested we stop trading with the EU? no, so do not repeat myths like a parrot.

..and if we left the EU this would not change as we would still trade with the European Union and be on friendly terms with its member states (some argue on even better terms as often the interests of Britain conflict with those on the continent causing rifts within the EU). If you pick almost anything up in your house, the chances are its made in China - China is on the other side of the world and we are not a province of China. As the 6th largest economy we can stand upon our own two feet easily, Switzerland and Norway can do it as can the rest of the world - we can.

The argument that companies would close/jobs would be lost is ridiculous and false, leaving the EU does not mean ending trade with the EU.

I'm confused by this irrational fear that companies will drop out of the UK if it were to leave the EU. Apparently dropping out means no trade links - who would of thought it

I might be able to get a job if we leave then!

This is sounding very promising, lets just hope they don't cast it off.

I voted although I still think there should be EU standards and trading organisations, as they do benefit the country.
    One for the road.

I've signed . If we leave the EU (please hope we do as the economic future of this country is dependent on it) we will have significant benefits and safeguard ourselves for the future (for example UNSC seat would be protected etc). Please DON'T listen to the scare-mongering left wing loony bins that want to stay in the EU, we are far better off out! - SIGN THE PETITION.

I've read all these posts and I still don't understand how leaving the EU will make a difference to absolutely anything.

Oh wait I forgot, it won't.

They're dreadful. If we pull out I hope the EU trading standards go too. They're a waste of resources and time. If we import flowers from Kenya, we should be able to with as little red tape as possible - the EU trading standards forces countries to check goods being imported and exported, when the countries the imports are coming from already do checks. It's costly on LEDCs - which is completely unfair. If you support fair trading, you would want out of the EU as the EU is completely against fair trade as it's all about the money, something LEDCs - particularly African countries - lack :/

Trade would continue with Europe anyway, and can do.

Elaborate Are you hinting towards our Government still pandering up to Europe for any little thing, the economy being tightly knitted with Europes, standards etc. Maybe all of the listed? Would be interesting to see what you mean

    • We would be able to scrap all directives and regulations that have engulfed us since we joined the EEC from the start and of which has cost business in this country billions upon billions.
    • Our fishing industry would be restored and we could drop the ridiculous fishing quotas that results in millions of fish being thrown back dead into the sea along with restoring our territorial fishing catchment area.
    • In agriculture we would be able to scrap the ridiculous CAP system which subsidies farmers for growing useless biofuels.
    • In energy we would be able to have our own energy policy and not be held to account by the EU for not meeting its ridiculous energy targets.
    • We would have our justice system restored to reflect our own values such as habeas corpus and not have people carted off across Europe under the EAW (European Arrest Warrant).
    • We would have our parliament making the majority of our laws as opposed to the unelected Commission in Brussels.
    • We remain a sovereign country without being sucked into a Federal European Superstate of which the people do not want.
    • We retain our own monetary sovereignty by keeping the Pound Sterling.
    • We are free to make our own trade deals with the Commonwealth members, of which includes India.

There are many more examples and we could be here all night and i've listed the more general points effecting each area. These are just a few of the issues on how it would make a difference. Of course there's still a lot to do at home deciding which way we want to go, but to make that start we need to leave the European Union.
