Just want to get this out here; MOD's should be told not to abuse the warning system. I don't want all my posts having really picky comments

The idea is good though - "modcomment" would be good - and also show other users that whatever happened is not allowed - without it turning in to a punishment.

It'll make the moderators a bit more personal. I hate seeing moderators come off robotic and generic, and with a modcomment they'll have to be creative when posting comments as it would be done case-by-case and in an informative way.

Are the PM's sent by MOD's totally generic?

Always winds me up when people who know perfectly well what my name is send me a PM moaning and say "Hey Marketing" - yet if it isn't some sort of moan it is "Hey Dom" lol

A mod warning traffic lights system would be based on moderator's discretion and I can already imagine the 'why was my warning red, it should be amber' arguments that would occur.

In which case the MOD should reply "Because you are a brain dead ****. Now shut up moaning."

Now that would cause some anger.

Hopefully moderators are taught the difference between explicit breaking of the rules and comment A comment could be editing a members post who is beginning to bully someone (or cause an out of hand argument) which may calm down the members, to explicit breaking of the rules which usually contains more than one rule being broken e.g. bullying/insulting mixed with a dash of avoiding the filter/O.T.T. swearing. Plus if they do argue a mod could send a friendly PM to advise. I only know of arguments being caused when a moderator sends a generic message which is so robotic and impersonal, when a personal one should be used. Just advise mods that explicit breaking of the rules contains more than one rule being broken. Think of it as knocking over cones with a car - one cone knocked over isn't as bad as 2.

I like the idea of a mod comment particularly in a 'cool down' situation when an argument starts but not for bullying which is inexcusable. I do not think moderators do send generic messages which are robotic or impersonal. They are encouraged not to do so but if they do maybe forwarding to the FM would be in order. Also I do not think we use a sledgehammer to crack a nut. If more than one rule is broken e.g. avoid filter/ rudeness then the more hard core rule break should be dealt with in my experience. The system whilst not perfect does distinquish between minor rule breaks and more major rule breaks.

It's like trying to fix something that isn't broken. There is a spam section which is open to all, even though there is a negative attitude towards people posting Habbo related content in there, that's the correct place to post it. We don't need extra forums for habbo, runescape or whatever; posting around this forum is at an all time low, so it seems crazy to add unnecessary spam forums when we should be removing some of the inactive sections.

Well it is a shame that there is such a negative attitude to these type of threads being posted. If there wasn't I am sure members would not ask for a separate forum. It seems to me that if you are not interested in a thread then leave it alone. Maybe add prefixes? We don't know they would be unnecessary though. It is just an opinion.

I don't think making a prefix saying [HABBO] in Spam would stop negative comments, if anything it would encourage them. Well I'm not going to defend the comments in Spam but it's a part of life really. At a typical high school you get the bullies and the popular people and the more quieter people, it's something that can't just go away because we don't like it. It anything people should learn to ignore comments or just get on with life. It happens everywhere, on the internet, at school and at workplaces.
Always have courage and be kind
