XKCD released a very exceedingly rare thursday edition of his comic.

"There's always the hope that if you sit and watch for long enough, the beachball will vanish and the thing it interrupted will return."

For those who don't understand, it's meant to be a memorial for steve jobs, and the beachball represents his death (The 'application' has died)

I actually had to take a second glance at that busy icon, because I can't remember the last time I've seen it on my Mac. Either way, cute comic

As much as I hate Apple for charging double what a product is worth, there is no denying that this man was a genius, and revolutionized the way we look at technology. Rest in peace.

Google and Samsung were today going to launch a new handset but it seems they have both delayed due to the death of Steve Jobs.

Samsung and Google decide to postpone the new product announcement at CTIA Fall. We agree that it is just not the right time to announce a new product. New date and venue will be shortly announced.

If that is the case, then that is pretty darn good of both companies.

Indeed it is. Also, I imagine they will do what Apple do and try and rip Apple us much as possible in terms of stats - so I guess it wouldn't really be appropriate to do that right now..

I'm not turning this into a war but Apple's products were marked up ridiculous amounts.

There's a difference between that and being worth nearly 350 Billion USD. Sorry, but anyone paying $1200 for a low-end laptop with integrated graphics really didn't do their homework (AKA base 13" Pro). HP marks up their laptops about 4%, as opposed to Apple marking theirs up over 100%.

Apple is the most valuable company in the world for a reason; they charge a premium for relatively mediocre products. Guess it works for them though, wish I bought Apple stock a few years ago!

Anyway, probably not the best place to start a Mac vs Microsoft vs Linux vs whatever thread. Like I said, Jobs did great things; let's focus on his accomplishments rather than his business practices.

No denying though, Jobs and Apple did do a great way of marketing of there products. Even if they are so expensive.

How odd, not sure why that would be a mark of respect but fair play I guess.

Odd thing to say. No one has disputed this? It's why they make the money, which is in question.
