Hey everyone, I'm just starting to make my own development site, I'm in need of some cheap hosting and a cheap .com domain, does anyone have any suggestions on where I can purchase these? +REP to all replies.

You pay for what you get, if you want cheap then it'll be cheap and cheerful, might not be the best speed or support. Simplexwebs is a fantastic host, I'd not consider anyone else! I'm pretty sure there is a thread around the technology section about which host to go with. Also, for domains I'd go for Simplex or www.123-reg.co.uk

I'd definitely go to SimplexWebs for your domains, but since they switched to Enterprise Hosting only, it isn't quite as affordable as it used to be (It's still great though, I'm on a UK package!)

I fail to see how £50 a year is expensive.

When I owned Vuze Hosting last year, our cheapest package was £8pm so £50py SEEMS good, for the domains I would personally go to GoGaddy, been the best for me.
