    Default Website Design. Opinions.?

    Hey,
Just finished this design. Took a long time! What do you all think? How can I improve it?

Its abit too simple IMO, it looks nice though however is the top half a copyright or is that how its going to be (the shine thingy), that bit looks weird imo!

I cannot see any way in which to improve it except lower the shine on the banner.

Really not liking the logo and navigation font... other than that it looks good! I like the simplicity of it.

Three things spring to mind initially:
    1) The drop shadow on the navigation bar feels too far away. I guess you're trying to create either emphasis or depth, but it looks too detached to me.
    2) The "shine" effect on the image overpowers the actual image. Shine effects are supposed to be used to compliment the image they're on, not overpower it.
    3) The position of the shine is a few pixels too low.

Also, I think you should use sans-serif fonts as opposed to serif fonts. Serif fonts are intended for usage in printed articles such as letters, newspapers, and typed documents. Think about it: how many websites (aside from journalistic) do you see using sans-serif fonts?
i've been here for over 8 years and i don't know why

Thanks for your extremely helpful response!!

Is this any better? For some reason the font wont stay straight but I'm sure thats an easy fix for someone with the know how.

    Or we have this
