As I mentioned in a thread ages ago relating to Habbox having a casino, I really don't think it's that much of a good idea and it could go wrong quite easily. It's very easy for something like this to affect the reputation of Habbox and peoples perceptions of it, and to some people casinos aren't always a good thing. There are various issues with trust etc, and I don't think it would be used that much either. Jin owning it is all well and good, but then you instantly lose the power to ban people from the room should a situation arise. I just don't think that a casino will be much help in attracting the kind of userbase that Habbox needs to step up and get more members. As bethie said, I don't think its a responsible way of doing things and whilst casinos may appeal to certain members of the Habbo community I've found that they are less common these days. It's all about the image we want to present of ourselves on the client and whilst it may bring credits in, the overall running of it and ensuring it complies with maintaining the good image of Habbox would be difficult to manage. HxHD presents its own issues enough, and personally I think more could be done with the helpdesk to drive people in, and I don't think a casino is the right route to go down.

Edit: here's the thread from a few months back where this was discussed http://www.habboxforum.com/showthrea...511&highlight= Management could ofcourse have a differnent opinion on this now.

What would determine who is chosen to be room moderators?

Also with selling D.E, how can you be 100% certain that the person is going to be trusted? Because I've known people to scam even after paying xxx credits to be a dealer. Even the top dogs do it. One single instance of something like that and it instantly looks extremely bad on Habbox since overall Habbox's name is plastered all over it. You could also get people that haven't been scammed coming in and claiming that they have and thus leading to endless debates over what happened etcetc.

You would really need to be 100% that everything in the room is 100% compliant otherwise you risk doing a lot of damage.

I guess you'd have to pick a few people who you know are safe.
Yeh obviously people scam, Nocturnals for instance who admitted he scammed on here last week was a pretty big player in the game. Used to own Big casinos etc, the point im making is theres no way we can stop people from scamming, but people could get scammed in HxHD the same way considering trades on?

I was, in the previous thread that Martin posted earlier in this thread, a supporter of a Habbox Casino and there are definite pros to it but I do think now, ultimately, the cons just makes the whole thing impractical and something that would requiretoo muchtime and effort that could be better spent elsewhere. For example, removing rights when someone scams and saying 'repay for them' is just an impractical idea that makes us look ten times worse than the scammer as we have, at the end of the day, scammed a lot. Add to the fact that scamming is practically impossible to prove and verify and often tends to be oneperson'sword against another and it's just adding more murky depth to what is already a grey area.

If people get scammed in HxHD, as the main purpose of the hxhd is not a trading room, Habbox can not be held accountable for said scam whereas a casino is.

I disagreed with the casino idea when it was brought up a couple of months ago due to similar reasons that Martin has mentioned above and what he said in the other thread. We would still get people complaining if they get scammed in an Habbox Casino and they would think we are held responsible regardless if we remove peoples rights or ban them or do whatever against the actual scammer due to the name of the room.

You can tell people that we aren't responsible but it wouldn't stop them from moaning to Habbox or to Habbo themselves that they have been scammed in a casino which is owned by Habbox Management.

I'm up for ways for fund to be made for Habbox but I personally don't think the casino is the way to go about and do it. You have made a point about HxHD being a trade room, it isn't actually a trade room and I have now put it into the correct category. But even if it was enabled all the time, we can't actually be held accountable for whatever happens on a trading system Habbo has created. Although we can be held accountable for a casino we have made.

I think it's a good idea only if you have a good and dedicated person/s to run it. Habbox need more official and useful rooms that people will use and thus increase knowledge of habbox in game.
Bonjour, la noirceur, mon vieil ami
    Je suis venu te reparler
    Car une vision piétinante doucement
A laissé ses graines lorsque je dormais
    Et la vision
Qui était plantée dans mon cerveau
    Demeure toujours
    Parmi le son du silence

Do you trust forum moderators? Because surely they could do a whole lot more damage than someone in a casino.

I don't think that is the same. It would be a lot harder to find trust again in the users on Habbo if a Habbox owned casino was found "scamming".
