    Default ucas (take 2).

right so i decided that i'm going back to university in september (woo) and this time i'm applying to ucas as an individual rather than through an institution so i'm just wondering if anyone can answer some questions for me:

    1. what is the send-off by date this year? i know when i applied initially (2 years ago) it was like end of january.

    2. does anyone know what the difference is between the two application types? am i less likely to get offers as an individual rather than through a college?

    3. and finallyyy, does anyone have any good websites for careers/course advice and stuff like writing my personal statement? obviously when i did it first time i had the careers department of my college helping and now it's all on my ownnnn haha.

    +rep for helppp.

    2. No but the actual process is rather more drawn-out and therefore more difficult as an individual
    3. No just send me what you got and I'll fix it obv

I applied as an individual last year, the process isn't that much different, but I'd really get on your reference. Unlike applying through a college where you fill in all you need to, then send it to your college and they sort everything else, you'll have to go and find someone who will do your reference and then they must attach it to your application before you yourself are able to send it off. My old tutor took absolutely ages with mine.

The best people to ask about personal statements are college tutors to be honest.

This thread has just forced me into sorting mine out now.

I'm doing through sixth form, much easier it seems.

yeah luckily i'm quite close with a couple of my old college tutors so i've just sent one of them a message on facebook, and depending how quickly they reply i'll message another. they surely should just be sending the same one they sent for me 2 years ago though?

[@]@-:Undertaker:-[/@]; yeah it does seem a lot easier when i did it through the college
