    Chances are they use VoIP, which would rely on their network to function.

    Bit poor really, they must have pushed a bad configuration out or had a single point of failure.

    Think it was a hardware failure due to the fact they had to send engineers to fix it.

    You can see the LINX Server/Network thingy stopped pinging earlier, Looking at past reports, it seems like a really big DDoS, unlikely however.
    Either way, It was a national routing failure.

    Ahh that's interesting, I've not tried to get on any of the afore mentioned websites but there's been various ones I've tried this evening off Google results and there was an unusually high number of websites down (Which wasn't sorted by restarting the router) so this would be a plausible explanation
