Default Home remedies for mouth ulcers?

    Hey,

Just wondering if you lot have any home remedies for mouth ulcers. I get them every 2 weeks (roughly) and they're an absolute pain in the **** :L. The best remedy I've found so far is toothpaste on the ulcer - it's only short-term (1 hour maximum) but it helps quite a bit.

I've considered trying "salt" - it's meant to be a really useful one (but hurts like hell) but I'd rather not endure that much pain at one moment.

So, what helps you guys with mouth ulcers?

It's always me biting my tongue/mouth - I do it accidently quite a bit, and the harder I accidently bite it - the more painful the mouth ulcer (bad phrasing.) I do believe I've had some random mouth ulcers without biting my mouth at all though.

+ I've tried bonjela - It didn't work very well for me aha.

oh, I do the same haha. It can be stress related or because you eat really acidic food or something or even because of your toothpaste/tooth brush.
If they're really bad, and I mean really, take some pain killers.

And^, the other unknown ones were probably stress related. I've also heard that extreme tiredness can cause it as well? To sum up: Everything can give you mouth ulcers aha XL.

The worst one I've ever had would have required some painkillers - instead I just bit so hard on it until I was practically screaming, but it did help... sort of. The worst story I've ever heard of is this; "...today I got so angry that I took a pair of scissors and cut one of the mouth ulcers off, I know it was a stupid idea but I couldn't help it - I wouldn't recommend it because it hurts like hell."

Ah I didn't, that was someone else's story "Worst story I've heard". I have come close to cutting one off though (Except with a knife :S) , they just drive you to the point of insanity sometimes.

I can imagine it would be very painful.

Oh I see! I would never do that, it sounds horrible. I hate getting ulcers but I wouldn't go through such desperate measures to get rid of them!

Wash your mouth out with warm salted water a couple of times a day.

As Misawa and shar have said, wash your mouth out with salt water. Yes it will hurt but it will work, it only stings on first contact then it numbs up and it doesn't hurt. Make sure you keep your mouth as clean as you can. If I have a ulcer that is quite painful I usually brush my teeth more than 2 times a day and have chewing gum
